Just watched this. I think it's a love/hate flick for most. Wasn't what I was expecting and was pleasantly surprised. If ever a director can put his stamp on a movie, this is it. The iguana (WTF?...seriously?) scene did it for me. Made me think of Stedanko. Nick Cage was excellent, his best in years.
Recently I am watching Woody Allen movies from last decade and I must say I love most of them. The voice over, the relationships going bad, the neurotic behaviour of everybody, ... Often there is barely a story to be told but that doesnt mean there is nothing to see. Maybe I should try some of his older work, although what I watched from it I liked less.
I guess if I can get through "The Human Centipede" and "Irreversible", I can get through this: http://www.foxnews.com/entertainmen...io-banderas-new-flick-extreme-sex/?test=faces Sex... ok Violence... ok Antonio Banderas... tolerable
haha... I like Antonio Banderas; He makes my pants tighten! Did you actually watch "The Human Centipede"? That is a terrible movie.
Yeah, watched the whole thing. They're making another and am interested in a weird way. You gotta give some props for originality. The German actor who played the doctor was the most genuinely creepy character I've seen since Linda Blair in the "Exorcist". I'm glad he makes your pants tighten, prolly makes you want to get out of them which can only be seen as a good thing. As for me, he kinda makes me drowsy, you know, being a guy and all...
I thought Bad Lieutenant was one of the 5 worst movies I've ever seen....Nic Cage was awful and I actually like him overall. Amazing how two people can see the same movie and have opposite views....kinda like the mkts I guess
Yes, it was quite original and the German doctor was really creepy. I'd watch the sequel. I don't really want to, but I feel like I "have" to. I hate horror movies, but the concept was too original to pass up. I was just kidding. I saw him in "Desperado" and "Assassins", which I thought was cool movies when I was in primary school. Now I feel like watching old Bruce Willis movies; Those were the days!
I went into it thinking of a drama movie when in fact it's more of a comedy than anything else. Once I settled on that mindset, Nick Cage's over-the-top performance fit right in. Took me about 20 minutes of bewilderment to get to that point. Did you or anyone else not get the comedic genius behind the iguana scene? Or am I just a moron?
I saw it the other day. Are you kidding me? It's not the best movie I've seen, but Cage's performance was pretty solid. I also liked the "vibe" of the film. But as we say in Norway: "smaken er som baken". Which roughly translates to "taste is like a bottom" (divided)
