Can't let this thread get lost. See Social Network? I liked it much more than I thought I would. I'm tired of pyrotechnicaly filled films like Transfomers or even Raiders sequels. All that fantasy seems to get just silly the older I get. The portrayls were done as well as anyone could have gotten them. The dialogue was the best facet of the film, well sure thats easy ...right. I appreciate films that're above average intelligent even if at times I'm thrown for the details of what they're talking about as in the scene where there was a contest for an internship by programming while having to down shots at prescribed waypoints in the competition. I thought I might not like it because of the age of the players but those players were way past my apptitude and probably 99 percent of Americans. While Zuckerman was socially awkward I admired his ability to defend himself against a roomfull of people by his wits alone though the way he screwed Eduardo by diluting his shares was indefensible. I think business themed films have alot to be said for them, to begin they're practically relevant since there're alot of films that succeed in de-educating the population but business themed films serve to inspire people esp. kids towards education and point them in the right direction, more than can be said for all the animations that seem to be deluging the screen. FYI, One of the twins faces were computer generated since the actors weren't actually twins. No, not the same as Transformers. A film well worth indulging.
I didn't think The Social Network was a great movie. It was a fine movie, but it didn't move me very much. I wouldn't watch it again. I never would have expected it to be nominated for best picture.
I thought it was very good....if I hadn't heard such amazing things about it beforehand I would have thought it was even better. By the way, the twins in that movie (the Winklevosses) were played by just one actor.
yup, that always kills it By the way, the twins in that movie (the Winklevosses) were played by just one actor. [/QUOTE] yeah, I was impressed when I learned that afterward. They've got that 'movie twin' technology down pat
The actor whose face was computer generated showed up sans pixels in the scene where Eduardo and Zuckerberg were in front of the john door while the girls were inside doing what they do. He said, "sweet" as he replied. ONly one of them were rowers. Eduardo said he was coming back not for 30 percent but all the money. Wonder how much he actually got. Changing the name from The Facebook to just Facebook was simple but a nice move.
I looked at my watch once, so, it was good. The Kings Speech I thought would be stupid but surprisingly I didn't look at my watch at all.
I was just at the New York Traders' Expo yesterday, and one of the speakers was talking about a movie where a guy apparently used a ton of post-it notes all over the place, and this speaker thought the movie was funny, but he couldn't think of the name of it. One guy in the audience thought it was called Memento, but I just watched the trailer on YouTube and it doesn't seem like that would be the right movie. Can anyone else think of what movie this might be? Thanks, +-*/ Math_Wiz
