Wow Omega, that looks awesome. Speaking of Peter Jackson/Neill Blomkamp, if you've ever played HALO, this will give you a boner: <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/crd9MxblYrA&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/crd9MxblYrA&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> That sequence at 1:55 is insane
I get recent movies free from my library and often as early as when they become available to rent. Don't know about anyone's local network but I reserve them early around when they come off the theater circuit and my online account notifies me they're in. I don't even have to get out of the car at the drive up window. Do a search at the online catalogue and reserve them. Thing is, if you're watching how government spends money, check out how much libraries spend on acquiring items like Madonna's or Jamie Lee Curtis' children books and renewed films that came out a decade ago. Don't know to what extent libraries are still funded by the Carnegie endowment but if not then there is alot of belt tightening that could be done there. Do a search using 2009 as a filter and you'll find out that belt could go many notches smaller by any reasonable estimation. I"m not pro censorship but in this economy it makes sense.
Lawrence of Arabia (1962) ...at the Sherman Oaks Arc light. David Lean's epic film classic on the big huge screen. Great movie...great movie. I recommended that one see it (again) or for the first time. And do it now.
