Best two movies of '06: V For Vendetta (More for the vital Libertarian political message than for entertainment value) Blood Diamond (Long sleeve or short sleeve? Jesus Christ, Africa is one fucking brutal place!... and I should know brutal- I grew up in the Middle East!) I've known that DiCaprio was a truly gifted actor (and not just a pretty-boy hack like some critics say) since Basketball Diaries. Now with Blood Diamond out, EVERYONE knows DiCaprio's undeniable talent.
What do you guys think about The Departed. I thought Leonardo DiCaprio was amazing in that as well. I didn't fancy the ending though. Very abrupt with everyone getting killed. Spiderman 3 was awful. Too much romance, too little action. Spiderman is supposed to be about action. This one had very little, more of the complicated love life of Peter Parker. Wouldn't rate it too highly. 300 was good. When I first saw it I thought it was even better than Gladiator. But after re-watching Gladiator, I was foolish to think that 300 is better.
DiCaprio proved himself an amazing actor when he was still a youngster in 1993, playing the mentally-challenged brother in "What's Eating Gilbert Grape". One of the best performances of its kind ever put on film. H
agree on gladiator but ATG was very deep.... I liked the part where it really dugg into the his head along with the mothers and fathers thought processes. it was a nice twist IMHO the war scences where not the best in ATG but everything else was pretty good. gladiator by far was done perfect.
