No, the news are for fools. It is the money which drives the market. If you have trillions of money, you don't need any news to make the market go up.
Yes i would really agree that the fundamental news releases which are major one will bring more market movement when they release and thus increased price fluctuation. But not all traders are good at market price speculation. Thus, most of them follow technical analysis.
