Why so many Black Chicagoans are frustrated by the migrant crisis Migrants have been resettled in Black communities where people have been fighting for decades for development and resources
Trump's immigration policies coupled with his tariff policies would be disastrous for the U.S. economy. Mass deportations would negatively impact many industries; construction, farming, and the restaurant sectors for instance. Admittedly the U.S. immigration system needs complete reform, we need to focus on creating a skills-based immigration system similar to Canada's. However Trump's crackdown on immigrants -- most who are hard-working individuals adding to our economy -- is not the correct path for our nation. Trump promises to disrupt immigration. These charts show how that could shake up the US economy. https://finance.yahoo.com/news/trum...-could-shake-up-the-us-economy-133016195.html

Trump's ICE raids to round up illegal immigrants are underway in cities. They mainly have rounded up U.S. citizens including military veterans. Yeah, basically it is a complete clusterf*ck. ICE Arrests More Than 500 In Raids, Including U.S. Veteran In New Jersey, Mayor Says “The largest massive deportation operation in history is well underway,” the White House press secretary wrote on social media. https://www.huffpost.com/entry/ice-...umented-immigrants_n_67931012e4b084b88b0f5af6
We don't want any Americans wrongfully deported but if Americans are present at a site which is being raided they are subject to having to confirm their status which may include temporary detention while that is happening. There is more of that to come and goes with the turf. Much more. Anything beyond a reasonable time to confirm citizenship or to verify identify makes the government subject to a legal action against them, and rightfully so. But Americans getting detained or caught up in a raid is part of processing a crime scene. As with any other crime event where the good and the bad need to be sorted out. Americans can help themselves and the process by staying away from known illegals or other types of criminals. Also, some of those Americans caught up with that crowd nevertheless have warrants out for them so they need to be background checked before being released.
Better carry your ID on you. Remember a driver's license is not sufficient to prove you are in the U.S. legally or a U.S. citizen. They will still detain you, drag you away to the ICE detention center and then you will have to try to have someone you know bring by documents (e.g. passport, etc.) to prove you are a U.S. citizen.
