I agree about it being somewhat ridiculous, so I just fixed it. Keep in mind that the reason why stuff like this even happens is because when I upgrade the software to a new version, there are literally hundreds of new settings on the backend that are enabled or configured by default. Some are fine just like they are, and some are downright dumb. But it's hard to tell which ones really need to be changed until the software is running on a production basis.
A bunch of excuses. You should have shut down the website for weeks until every single tiny kink was worked out
I know this is none of my business but I miss the old interface. Did you get too many complaints on the old format? I affectionately remember when it was actually easy to subscribe to a thread (like at the bottom of the thread, when users are most likely to make the decision to subscribe to a thread). I also think it would be great to receive an email informing about the changes that will be coming forward and in anticipation asking for patience and understanding...bla bla bla..
Aside from the ease of subscribing to a thread, is there anything else specifically that you miss? I'm only asking because I don't think we're that far away from the old format at this point.
Oh, I'm not saying there was intent. That's what the Feedback section is for, right? To call attention to stuff that has the user's interest.
Thanks Baron. I guess it takes a while to get used to a new format(colors). After years of seeing something a certain way.... Right now I can't think of anything in particular , probably others can chime in. If I come across something, I will post it here.
Keep in mind that you can still view the site in the old color scheme and fonts by changing the style from "Modern" to "Classic" at the bottom left of any page.
