Learn from the Brits... bailout a dying industry doesn't work. http://www.nytimes.com/2008/11/18/business/economy/18car.html?em
Guess I'm from the tail end of the boomer gen, but can't stand their typical values. (Came from a military family, so had a different perspective.) - - A bunch of spoiled pony-tailed ex-hippes with their heads up their a#$. Their parents & grand parents went through the 1st Great Depression and WWII. Unfortunately, they spoiled the hell out of their kids, and they never got over it. - - - If later generations just calmly agree to go along with the socialist tax drain of their futures, I will be amazed. Let a bunch of old farts rob them blind for decades ?
"The meeting on capitol hill with the big 3 is the most pitiful thing i have ever seen" Yeh, but it's not the real issue. The real issue--how the $700 billion bailout, which was intended to buy toxic mortgages, is being used for just about anything.
My now 11 year-old Son (the youngest) comes to me at age 7 asking "Daddy, what's an erection? What does it mean for four hours?" Blew my mind that the baby boomer generation, and the sick drug companies have this going on on THE CARTOON NETWORK!!!!!!! I had to tell him "it's for old people, don't worry about it, you don't need it." Unfortunately, now he knows what an erection is, as well as yeast infections, and "male enhancement" garbage!!!! I'll say it again, the baby boomer generation makes me ill as I'm trying with all my might to raise three Sons with values. It's working though, and they're rebelling against the "norm" like Obama voters, my Uncle who is a liberal idiot, and the rest of the boomers who want to cram Godlessness donw MY Son's throats!!!! You guys nailed it with this thread, and I'm REALLY glad to see many of us think alike, and KNOW the boomers are the reason this once great Country is in the sewer now. Thanks for this thread guys! I feel better knowing there are 30-40 year-olds like me who are fed up with the baby boomers garbage, and want change. No, not odumba kind of change, but the kind of change that we REALLY need vs. what the baby boomers want. How about this? My real Dad is now a Pastor, and voted for odumba??? Thanksgiving is going to be interesting at my house, as I'm going to show him this thread, and say "thanks Dad for all you 'did' when we were growing up running the neighborhoods while you and mom smoked weed with the liberal neighbors complaining about President Reagan." (No, I do NOT think "weed" should be illegal, as people should be able to decide for themselves if they want to be stupid, and not need the govt. saying no you can't when they allow Tobacco, and Alcohol to kill millions.) My Step-Dad is a retired Broker who started in the business in 1961, and retired in 2004. He DID NOT vote for odumba, and is in his 70's, so not a baby boomer. I learned more from him tha my own Dad, and I refuse for my Sons to have to do the same. That's why I am a Christian Conservative, Libertarian who voluntarily enlisted in the Marine Corps, and went to Iraq to fight no matter the politics. It's what MY Country called me to do, and unlike the baby boomers, I didn't question my orders, and flee to Canada...
The early boomers had the mantra "Question authority". This soon became "Disrespect authority". Everyone was advocating and preaching "I know my rights". We all knew our rights but we needed a lawyer but not anymore. Every knucklehead who disrespected authority did so under the pretense of "I know my rights" like some impromptu lawyer. Suddenly rude and disrespectful became fashionable and interchangeable with rights.
The boomer generation has been a cancer on this world. I feel for my father born at the launch in 1946, the irony is he never did drugs, joined the U.S. military at 18 and he wasn't even born in this country. You can add to list of garbage from Boomers, Dr. Phil, Oprah, Jerry Springer, MTV, explotation of the emotionally damaged and poor, The hipness of having a shrink, openess and all the other selfish feel good crap I am gonna dump my problems on you attitude that Baby Boomers have fostered. Ever had a conversation with a Liberal boomer in their 60's its the most emotionally immature individual you will ever meet. They stopped maturing at 16.
