Seventy-six million American children were born between 1946 and 1964

In 1993, Time magazine reported on the religious affiliations of baby boomers. Citing Wade Clark Roof, a sociologist at the University of California at Santa Barbara, the articles stated that about 42% of baby boomers were dropouts from formal religion

They are also more liberal, which deepens rifts over issues like abortion and homosexuality

Memorable events: assassinations of JFK, Robert Kennedy, and Martin Luther King, Jr., political unrest, walk on the moon, Vietnam War, anti-war protests, social experimentation, sexual freedom, civil rights movement, environmental movement, women's movement, protests and riots, experimentation with various intoxicating recreational substances

Key members: U.K. Prime Minister Tony Blair, U.S. Presidents Bill Clinton and George W Bush

As of 1998, it was reported that as a generation boomers had tended to avoid discussions and planning for their demise and avoided much long term planning

According to Wikipedea the boomers are to blame for Clinton Bush JR and spent most of their time high.

I guess in order to have been a hippie you had to be a boomer and I think hippies suck.

  5. This is why you have to hand it to Obama.

"When I was a kid, I inhaled." "That was the point," Obama told an audience of magazine editors...

  6. in fairness to clinton, he's the first serious presidental candidate who had to admit this

obama followed clinton, who at least admitted to having a lit joint in his mouth, and bush, who was known for coke

lot easier to be forthcoming 16 years after clinton's 'inhale' remark

    obama followed clinton and w

    clinton followed reagan, bush sr

This is amazing! I keep saying the same thing! I tell my Wife all the time, "you can thank yours and my Mom and Dad's generation for where this Country is, and where it's going which isn't a pretty site.

I'm glad others are recognizing what I am. Amazing! Do you think there was something in the water they were drinking when they were growing up?

    What a messed up generation!

I'm glad I can post this anonymously, as many of my Clients are boomers, and yes, they're rather difficult people. The part that shocks me is their values "system" is so flawed. ZERO common sense to go with broken values, and it's an ugly picture...:(

  8. Yeah and they can't hold their water anymore. We need more Boniva, and Viagra, and that other shit that keeps them from pissing every 12 minutes. And throw in some "oops I crapped my pants adult underwear" Restless legs and cholesterol.

They have been the focus of marketing their whole lives. From Hula Hoops to joint pain relief. I cant take it anymore.

Now that they have to work another 10 years, less jobs for the younger generation to move up into.

  10. I swear to God if I have to see that Viva Viagra commercial again I am going to vomit in my mouth. C'mon? a room of guys jamming really bad music and singing about how they cant wait to get home and hump their wives of 30 years.

My friends with children have discussed trying to be better parents than the often divorced, beatnik-hippies that used to let us run around the neighborhood barefoot.

I have so many friends that are solid married for over 10 years raising good kids. We don't over schedule them. We try to set good examples for them and in many cases never let them stray like our parents did.

    Great Thread!
