The market is whispering something...

  1. Vic was George Soros' top protege in the 80's

... Victor founded a merger-and-acquisition firm in the mid-1960s. For a decade, he was unbeaten as national squash champion. In the late 1970s Victor began speculating in commodity markets, making and losing several fortunes. He started trading for customers (and George Soros) in the early 1980s and was managing more than $100 million by the mid-1990s. For several years he had the best track record in the world before investments in emerging markets in 1997 caused his fund to close. Since 1997 he has continued to trade for his own account using principles outlined in his best-selling book, "The Education of a Speculator." He currently writes a weekly column on the markets with co-author Laurel Kenner on MSN Money.

Vinny, If your next question is "Who the hell is this George Soros", you're on your own.

Generally I try t stay calm but I must say , Hii a_ooiioo_a, you are a fucking hypocrite. You call some one a bigot because he doesn't trade and imply he shouldn't be on these boards and then turn around and mouth some drivel about how you support everyone's right to free speech. I'd be willing to bet you wouldn't put yourself in harms way to protect his or your right to free speech or anything else.

  3. No, sorry, the sequence of my sentences may have seemed misleading. The statement about his not trading was not meant as a logical sequence to my statement that he was a bigot.

He has the right to free speech here. He has the right to be here whether or not he trades. It just me struck as odd that someone who "doesn't trade" was on here in the first place, to have his eye caught by this off-topic discussion resulting in his blood boiling.

Not trading is not what makes him a bigot. His attitude toward non-Americans is what makes him a bigot.

  4. I do not shame those who died in those attacks and please who are you trying to kid. Who ever harbors and funds these terrorist groups need to go. Plain and simple and yes we may have to stoop to thier level in order to accomplsh our goal but in the end this is all we have to work with. I do wish that war never existed and we could all live in harmony, I also have respect for somebody who is as nice as you. From what I have noticed is that when you are in situations such as this the nice guy WILL loose, reguarless of your peacful thoughts. We had enough respect to allow the UN to go in with inspectors and do there thing and that is great. But in the end all those jokers need to go and this time it will be brutal.

Are we supposed to just sit back and talk this through with these countries? I know that you are not that Nieve to think that this will actually work in solving this problem. If so I would hate to see you in a bar room brawl.

In the end hi_a_whatever.... your opinion consists of you and a few others. I cannot be that wrong if the leader of the US feels the same way.

Remeber this new wave of war is to reduce the chances for future attacks, it would rid this world of extremists and let others know that we will retaliate. We played the nice guy and and we got spit on, if we continue to do so what would that say about our integrity.

Sorry Hiioa....You are completly out of touch with reality, and I highly recomend looking at the truth versus pushing your peacful opinion.

The solution to this world mess is Hydrogen baby! We mandate 100% hydrogen vehicles by 2005, and cut the Arabs only supply of money off (Maybe they could try Casino's next?). The Arabs can go back to trading incense and Murr, and killing each other with primitive weapons.

It doesn't take much to convert a vehicle to burn hydrogen, and it's cleaner, more powerful than gas, and plentiful (can be made from water). Of course there's a severe power requirement needed to convert things into hydrogen, but this could be done quickly by taking all of California's power production and use it solely to convert water to hydrogen. They are use to blackout's and one long one won't hurt them. Tripling our Nuclear reactors is another idea, and damming all our rivers to capacity would be good too! The reactor waste we just pile in Hanford, WA since people there have built an immunity to it.

The solutions to our problems are so easy if we just ignore the liberal tree huggers and start doing the obvious!

edit: This will have a positive effect on our markets..:)

Hey - go easy on .. Hii a_ooiioo...
    He's real "Entertainment Quality here.
The rest of you guys are boring compared to him.

    Teddy Said:
Walk Softly and Carry a Big Stick.
Emphasis on BOTH "Softly" and on "Stick".

Implying that one must be prepared to USE the Stick.
( Works the same way with a Bad Dog ).

If the rest of the world would know that ,
When we say something - WE MEAN IT,
There would be an overnight Global Attitude Adjustment.

Placation and Appeasement START WARS - not keep us out of them.!

    Now, in accordance with PROTOCOL,
I must mention something here about the ECONOMY,,,,
uhh, errr, there I said it.

  9. I wasn't going to press the issue but that does it, pussy.

I'm <b>letting you pick the escrow</b>, assuming it's someone/some firm fit to serve in this capacity. My money will be there tommorow.

C'mon vinny, quit acting like a stereotype Sicillian and put your money where your mouth is already. $10,000....the bet was your great idea in the first place wasn't it?

Is $10K your entire life savings? What's the problem Vinny, bit off more than you can chew?

One more thing: I'm pretty sure that if you had the education to know the meaning and background of the phrase 'Molon Labe', you would not make fun of it.

<blue> Two little words. With these two words, two concepts were verbalized that have lived for nearly two and a half Millennia. They signify and characterize both the heart of the Warrior, and the indomitable spirit of mankind. From the ancient Greek, they are the reply of the Spartan General-King Leonidas to Xerxes, the Persian Emperor who came with 600,000 of the fiercest fighting troops in the world to conquer and invade little Greece, then the center and birthplace of civilization as we know it. When Xerxes offered to spare the lives of Leonidas, his 300 personal bodyguards and a handful of Thebans and others who volunteered to defend their country, if they would lay down their arms, Leonidas shouted these two words back.
    Molon Labe! (mo-lone lah-veh)

They mean, “Come and get them!” They live on today as the most notable quote in military history. And so began the classic example of courage and valor in its dismissal of overwhelming superiority of numbers, wherein the heart and spirit of brave men overcame insuperable odds. </blue>
