I hope i'm not hurting your cause, inandlong, by siding with you, but I think he makes a damn fine moderator. He is very level headed. He has my stamp of approval. He's trying to do the best he can with a diverse group of people and ideas, give him a break! Vinny ps who is Neiderhoffer?
Personally I say carpet bomb em back into Primordial Ooze, and it would have a great effect on the ECONOMY ! But then,,,,, I'm not a Moderator . I'm an Instigator.
The world trade center attacks were not carried out by any government or country. They were the work of a small independent group. We have killed thousands of Afghans already, even though most of the people killed there had nothing to do with the trade center attacks. Killing more innocent people does not bring back the dead. It does not honor the deaths of those in New York. It does not redeem their lives. Human lives are not poker chips that you can redeem by taking an equivalent number of theirs for ours. Those who were unjustifiably killed are not redeemed by unjustifiably killing others in their name. You do a shame to the memory of those whose deaths you use to rationalize the taking of more lives. You are perpetuating the same callous mentality of those who took their lives, and danced in the streets.
Hey Vinny, I think we have all contributed to our favorite candidate: NASD & NYSE. And I don't think either ever said they were running for office ((LOL))
I respect your desire for peace. That is why I said a big part of me and not all of me etc. I don't want our kids going to fight. I have a 4 1/2 year old son that I cannot imagine what my life would be like without. So the idea of any other parent losing a child by whatever means is terribly sad. First, I don't have the priviliege to move this thread to chit chat. When I suggested we keep it on track, it was to... well hopefully redirect commentary back to trading and markets. When I made my addendum to comp's post, as I said, one: emotionally I want revenge for the americans killed on Sept 11, but part of me recognizes there might be a better way than war, although I don't know what it is, and two: by adding the bit about oil prices, it tied comp's post in with babak's question... as an example of how you for example, can say all you want from a political view, but tie it in to the base question and all is well. Or start another thread, and let's go on about it there. I sure would like to see the PM though. Btw, watch the length, you get 3000 characters per, so split it up if need be.
Man, what a bigot. What the hell are you doing here if you don't trade, anyhow? It's this "blood-boiling" trait that exists throughout American history that has caused most of our wars. Later on rationalizations for the wars are tagged on by history books. But the real reason Americans go to war is; a. economic b. political (politicians using war to keep the citizens distracted) and c. hotblooded ruthless bigotry. In case you think I'm not, I am an American, I was born an American and lived here my whole life. But those members of this board who are not American have every bit as much right to freely express themselves and counter these fascist type of remarks as they would if they were Americans.
Isn't he the one in Animal House who is the real hardcore jerk, ROTC general, Honor Council prosecutor, and administator of hazing and paddling to Kevin Bacon's rump?
the market is whispering, but what it is saying to me, is not the same as what it is saying to you. not everyone can hear. reading the WSJ daily helps. watching CNBC of CNNfN daily helps. I know that this morning at 8am EST with the results of the post market trading in INTC, and the premarket malaise in INTC and a whole host of other stocks (KLAC -2.83 or so, AMAT, etc.) it was portending or whispering a sell off. did you hear that? Premarket would have shouted it to you. there was another thread that suggested that Jessie Jackson caused the sell off. that thread and statement was about as enlightening as looking at night for a day lilly (sheez) there's economic skittishness in the market, and its touch sensitive. There's also the end of January Blues because Jan 27th has been bandied about as a key war decision date. So, whatever trend is in effect, its almost certain to be disrupted by these factors. Now, that's Economic commentary, not political. Cheers
Victor Neiderhoffer was a big time trader who lost a zillion dollars making the wrong call on the market. Then he made a comeback, and ooops he lost another half zillion dollars again.
