The Iron (well, barbed wire) Curtain is back.

How a chilling ‘barbed curtain’ is falling across Europe as 2,000-mile frontiers with Russia and Belarus are fortified
    https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/20457728/chilling-barbed-curtain-europe-borders-russia-belarus/

A NEW "barbed curtain" is falling across Europe as fearful nations reinforce their frontiers against Putin's "hybrid war" on the West.

Poland, Lithuania and Finland are erecting steel walls and razor wire fences on the borders with Russia and its ally Belarus.

Alexa has 'predicted' date World War 3 will start - and there's not long to go
A chilling viral video that shows the popular digital assistant predicting that the Third World War will break out after a Russian invasion of Germany may not be quite what it seems
    https://www.dailystar.co.uk/news/weird-news/alexa-predicted-date-world-war-29084986

A viral video that originated on TikTok shows the device responding to a question about the end of the world by saying: "World War 3 starts on November 23, 2023 at 6:05pm, when Russia launches an attack against Germany”.

These idiot armchair warmongers are just that, mere idiots. Even those in the military will tell you that NATO is not prepared to fight a war with Russia. Logistical problems at the top of it and NATO expending weapons and ammo in Ukraine to feed Zelensky's demands to continue the war, have depleted stocks of heavy weapons and ammo. If the 70,000 US troops in Poland with Polish and Romanian troops come inside Ukraine to save Ukraine from defeat, you know direct war with Russia will happen. Russian troops will fight US troops contrary to the armchair warmongers thinking this is going to be a cakewalk for the US. And it will be very catastrophic for NATO since, Russia has been on a war footing for a while and its factories have been churning out heavy weapons including tanks, howitzers, missiles and lots of ammo. Russia will be fully armed and loaded if a confrontation with the US happens.

I think people should come to their senses and realize who they are listening to. A full scale European war is, in today's world, impossible. Russia is incapable of it. If they can't handle a war limited to the Ukraine there is no reason to think they could handle a full scale war against the combined NATO Nations. He's bluffing. He won't use nuclear weapons. Why. Because if he does, it would mean the end of him.

The NATO Countries are playing into his hands by not quickly giving the Ukrainians all they need to quickly end this conflict. In a sense we are almost as irresponsible as Putin. By delaying and dragging this war out with our silly stepwise escalations we are causing thousands of unnecessary deaths on both sides. If you are a decision maker directly involved, a soldier, or a civilian directly at risk, you can not think clearly. Those of us who re not at risk are the only ones that can think clearly in such situations. It's always easier to see a war correctly from a great distance than it is when you are directly embroiled in it. Just a fact of human nature.

What should be clear to everyone looking on from a distance is that a delayed, stepwise response by the Western Powers is accomplishing very little beyond increasing risk by giving Putin's military forces time to correct their deficiencies.

The Russians are expending 50 to 60 thousand rounds of artillery a day apparently causing huge losses.
Decent sources are saying they've been training a large professional force for the last few months and are prepping for a large scale spring offensive.

It appears that by now the Russians must have realized their miscalculations. They Started this war ill prepared for the fight the Ukrainians are putting up. That gave Ukraine a tremendous advantage. Why squander that advantage, which is what delay and a stepwise response will do. The NATO forces will eventually have to supply long range strike capability and air planes. Why wait? Do it now!
