The M.I.N.D Game

  1. CORRECT.

    Decision or Decisions will suffice.

Now, as insanetrader was so good to help you all out here, how about some serious discussion on how:

    Mastering Intuition Not Decision

is one of the most fundamental pre-requisites to profitable trading.

What does Intuition mean in relation to trading, and it is not as simple as using T&Sales to gauge market momentum shifts !

I am sure, that some traders here, know that in order to be able to intuitively act, one must assist the brain with the assimilation of information, for we all know how much rubbish traders absorb each and every day.

    Lets take Fibonacci Retracements.

How many of you, would be shocked, to learn that Fibonacci Ratios mean absolutely nothing in trading, and what you see, when a price hits one of these numbers, is nothing more than the natural movement of price over time, and, the fact that you have placed a FR line in its path, is just a coincidence !

  2. And, while the 200 Day moving average of a particular stock, might induce some bit of anterior lobe stimulation in, what I call Salary Traders, it really has very little importance when it comes to future price target projections.

But, if we "are" projecting the future price of a stock, or index, are we going to make a "decision" based on the future price projection, or based on our intuition, or should it be a bit of both, and if so, what should the balance be, and how do we go about getting the correct balance, and, how do we know when we have the correct balance!

  3. Now that The M.I.N.D Game has begun, we must look at the integral parts that make up the game!

How many know who The Generals are ?

Next we have to ask the 4WH questions.

Anyone want to ask them ?

See insanetrader, I am not forgetting you, as this is only the beginning :)

  4. I take it, jj, that you are in Row 3 ?

Please do not try and disrupt the class, as well as corrupt other pupils!

You, and others, may ask to be seated in Row 1 at any time, all you have to do is post on topic, and either answer the questions directly, or with another valid question.

We are not here to waste our time, or daydream!

  5. 4WH ?

    Hint:

If you wonder, what it is, or why it is, and where it is, the when you see it, you will know how !

  6. unfortunately I was not around when you wrote the clue. I can honestly say that I figured out the last part before I scrolled down to see that someone else beat me to it.

I must say though, that I don't really "get it".

I use my intuition more than anything else it seems as I go along but decision.... everything is a decision.

I think it would be cool to talk more about this before we move on.

Also, I am not a big fan and I don't use fibs but lots of people do, so , therefore,

    1) there must be something "to it" for many to believe in it, it has a track record that is plausible enough

    2) If enough people believe in and act the same way, the outcome will be a self fulfilling prophecy, so you may not want to discount them as rubbish.

    3) I use 3 indicators to help me in my decision but ultimately it is my intuition that makes the final say if I enter a trade or not.

Personally I think mastering your self is the most important piece of the puzzle. I once heard that when you trade you are not playing against the market. You are playing against yourself.

(no not with yourself, against yourself) :D

  7. Yeah, those who propose to help other traders and the traders who seek their assistance! :p

Hey look "e", trading IS a mind game, but not like you are proposing here.

You're trying to muddy the waters with your game playing nonsense, while actually all a trader has to do is manage their emotions (notice I did not say control) while paying attention to bread and butter setups that happen consistently every single day, yep, everyday. Trading them, and making their money.

    Simple, but not easy.

But the only mind game you're talking about here is the one your playing on people's heads ...

  8. Who seems to fit in very well here. . .

  9. Well jj, if it was as simple as that, why are so many posting on elite, and other holy grail sites ?

You see jj, one mans misfortune is another mans gain!

What you might consider as success, might be seen as no more than the coins that drop out of the little hole in The Generals pockets.

Let the readers make up their own mind, as to who has mastered The MIND Game, and who has not.

Row1 is open to all btw, as sharing is a virtue that only very few possess, and very few take up!

  10. Tension subsides - harmony resides . . . within a MIND.
