As you are all mad to jump the gun, I will leave you with this chart to ponder ! 12:24:26 48.77 43,100 $2,101,987
i am assuming that this pertains to the order flow - which was mentioned earlier in the lesson as a newbie, i would have picked up on amgn if i had a scan set for unusually high volume, the 44k shares would of definately been unusual high volume? - never followed this stock b4 so don't know once i was alerted to the unusual high volume - i would than look at the charts to try and understand where the order flow is coming from - meaning, is someone buying or someone dumping? but given this high dollar amount - one general is dumping while one general is buying? that is my read of the T&S - so in short, i don't know but would probably pay attention a bit to see if something else pops up based on the chart in a later post of yours - it seems that support is building
question - when you post an example, for example amgn - should we be looking at: l 1.) live data - T&S 2.) 5 minute chart? thanks
seems to me he would be buying in the low 60's and selling in the high 70's, netting more sales than buys as he works to his goal. But I do not see the exact method to spot nick. Unless he is the one buying back at the 11:21 low, (seems to obvious) with the plan of selling more later in the hi 70's, as maybe that was his selling at 10:40.
The point is, that no matter what we think, all we can do is look at what is happening now, and how the current orders are effecting the price movement. Who is buying and selling all the smaller lots ? At least with Level II you can see the MM ID, and even who is Best, but do we really need to bother with that. Is it not mush better to look at what matters most, and that is what the price is doing. Many here have already said that orders are prone to manipulation, and yes, of course they are, so why try and second guess? Why not get one step ahead of them, and use what is freely available for all to see, with no smokes and daggers, and that is, the price chart. So, do we really need to bother about knowing the intricate details of order flow, and how, when an Option MM is asked for a quote, which he must honor, he will hedge his position so that he won't lose, and how he does this hedging, by buying and selling stock ! So, who is really making the trades, is it the Option MM, the one of many small broker firms, the big firms, who cares ! All we need to know, is that, we can see what is happening as their activities cause the stock price to move up and down, and this can be charted, in many ways, and this of course, is the Big Question, for there are as many ways to read charts as there are traders, and we all know how simple it is, yet so hard ! So, who are the real professionals in the market ? Are they The Generals, and all the associated orgs that go with the Order Flow for spending Mr & Mrs Gullibles money, or, are they the ones that have the ability to sit back, and look at a chart, and say, with a high degree of probability, that, I know what this group is going to do, for they do the same thing, over and over, and they always show their hand, if you know how to look for it !
