Usually the phrase "live calls" implies someone is posting real-time trades or trade signals in reference to his response to lawrence-lugar. In contrast, not contradictory, when someone says "such and such should reach 1800"...that's not a live call. Instead, its just a real-time or before the fact analysis of the market. Regardless, he has already stated he doesn't trade the spoos and that he uses it for his overall analysis while trading other markets. Yet, he did create a problem when he uses the phrase "market calls", "my calls" because most will associate such as someone making "live calls". Thus, I'm sure others here are confused in wondering if these are just "analysis" or "trade signals" or "recommendations" even though he stated he doesn't trade the spoos. Regardless, its easily clarified by simply asking if someone is in a position related to that "call" soon as the call is made. By the way, I'm reading this journal because I'm curious about his analysis (not live calls) of the markets that he does trade due to the fact I'm in reverse in comparison to him. Thus, I use those other key markets (the ones he trades) to help me with my some of the market context while trading the S&P 500 Emini futures. Therefore, I hope this journal isn't only just about the spoos considering he trades other markets...hopefully he provides analysis of those other markets.
Sadly, too many people prefer to debate, respond instead of putting someone on their ignore list via clicking that "ignore" button and they prefer not to contact the moderator to have the individual banned from the thread. In some ways, its some kind'uv emotional release or entertainment to respond to someone behaving as a troll.
I don't know about his past calls, but he's very clear what his views are on this one. His call is specific. If he's right he deserves a victory lap. If he's wrong and he pretends to be right, then he deserves your ridicule. If he's wrong and admits it, then nothing wrong with that. londonkid, one issue with your calls: spoos typically refer to the futures (spu). you should be clear if you mean cash or futures. They are not interchangeable as the futures trade like 8 points lower than the cash (I haven't looked at the basis today). Also futures roll every three months, you can't make calls in the futures that cross the roll dates as the jump in value is not-actionable. Mixing futures with cash is one way to obfuscate your calls.
morning newwurldmn i have been a long-term reader of your posts and I give you mucho respect, it's clear to me you know what is what. I am going to go with your suggestion and only refer to the the front month future from now on.
Wait, are you referring to cash or front month future? If you refer to cash, then don't use the word spoos and you can't look at pre/post market. If you are looking at spoos, you should only look up to the first roll date (which is about a week before the expiry of that future). If you are converting your original call to futures, then you need to update the levels to reflect that (ie, 1906 spoos vs 1910 cash). It looks like the basis right now is -4 (spoos under cash).
