Portland sees peaceful night of protests following withdrawal of federal agents Thursday night’s protest passed off without major incident or intervention by the police in the absence of federal officers. The withdrawal of federal agents from frontline policing of demonstrations in downtown Portland significantly reduced tensions in the city overnight. Protesters in support of Black Lives Matter once again rallied near the federal courthouse that became a flashpoint, and the scene of nightly battles amid the swirl of teargas, after Donald Trump dispatched agents to end what he called anarchy in the city after weeks of demonstrations. 'These are his people': inside the elite border patrol unit Trump sent to Portland But in the absence of the federal officers, Thursday night’s protest passed off without major incident or intervention by the police. On Wednesday, Oregon’s governor, Kate Brown, agreed with the White House that the state police would take over responsibility for guarding the courthouse after weeks of escalating protests. She said that “Trump’s troops” were behaving like an occupying army in Portland and provoking unrest with heavy-handed tactics.
Edit: Quote Bugenhagen. Well, if the troops were truly being “liitle shits”, then they needed to go back home to mommy. It is noteworthy that when a Democrat complained such as with the troops, Trump was responsive, such as removing the troops. However, when Trump and others complain about Antifa violence and property destruction, it seems to fall on deaf ears. If Antifa is not the Democrat’s “Dog” and the fact they are now considered a terrorist organization, and that’s not in name only, Trump certaintly has the authority, if not the obligation, to keep after Antifa. If Antifa is the Democrat dog, Trump could fairly justify going after both. I wonder how the affected business owners and homeowners feel right now with the Federal Troops gone? It does seem to me Trump is a peace loving guy with his efforts to reduce our involvement in wars and is basically turning his cheek to the violent and destructive rioters. Perhaps Trump realizes there is a point, beyond which, even if destructive, things should be let be, if it is the will of the people. Perhaps even including if the people have been led astray. How about if these people were led astray by the efforts a rival foreign power? Such as Russia? An ideology that was ultimately not true to itself and was never represented by the most intellectually fit people is headed towards extinction. I would like to believe this implies that more capable group of people will be taking the place of the Conservatives, but I’m not optimistic. When a entity gains power through manipulation and lies, sort of like a virus, even using a high level of skill, does not mean the people will benefit from competent and representative governance. Look at the governance and lack of progress in long term Democratically controlled inner cities for their inhabitants, for example. Is there a point where Trump supporters should walk away? Is there a point where Trump himself should walk away? Withdrawing support like the tree of life in the movie Avatar to one of the injured outsiders? Maybe too many Trump supporters are only interested in maintaining their ideals if they don’t have to work too hard for them. Perhaps their idea is to rely almost solely on Trump versus the world. It is impressive Trump still stands against all who are actively trying to take him down and are undermining him. Seemingly more Leftists are willing to fight for their beliefs than those on the Right. Perhaps the continued passionate efforts of the Left have won Trump’s respect. In the end, survival of the fittest always wins out. The particular attributes necessary for a change in status quo may be hard to evaluate, but no matter, it is the way of nature.
Outstanding? If you liked that one, would you be willing to pay for an even better one? A much better one? There is plenty of “Material” available on Trump. But how it is presented makes all the difference. Based on what I’ve seen so far, If the 2020 election comes down to who makes the best political ads, the Left is in trouble.
