Actually Republicans never knew how to do good attack ads --- until the Lincoln project showed up to demonstrate how it is done.
Just stating the truth.... the Democrats have a long history of very good attack ads in state & national elections. The Republican attack ads in state & national elections have generally been not very good. The Lincoln Project raised the bar on how Republicans should do attack ads -- except that I will note that in this case it was "intra-party fratricide" and that the actual "hands-on" people hired by the Lincoln project to create the ads were long time producers of political advertising for Democrats.
Yes... he would.... Carl Rove was good at political quips which burned those who opposed him --- he was very poor in launching a coordinated advertising campaign involving negative advertising media.
