the uptrend started many centuries ago.

The most recent uptrend started 2 weeks ago.
The recent uptrend started 6 months ago. etc etc etc
So swing traders must be aware of it.

 

Breakout started Wednesday, then confirmed again on Thursday:-

 

the breakout strategy is a hopeless/useless/foolish/stupid strategy (see my earlier posting) unless you are early in the market.

If you missed a boat, perhaps wait for 2nd boat.
If you missed the 2nd boat, don't try to wait for the 3rd boat/4th boat .... !

 

Agree, the train left the station long time ago.

Gold and Silver are prone to false breakout, and since people are talking about breakouts on Gold, it might be a good signal to actually short the bull trap

 

Silver is a better breakout bet atm imo.

 

That is 19*100*5 = $9500 loss in just a few hours.

Timing (when to enter) is very important.
