The intifada in France continues- The country continues to live in denial.

  1. We did stop importing then a few years after the Algerian war.
Only about half of french muslims are citizens.

The french society has decided that such harsh methods do not justify the menace.
The french society has stuck its collective head into the sand so deep that they (you) can't possibly recognize the menace. When you finally do it may be too late, or it may be bloodier than WWII.

"Lying to myself" ? Huh ? you must be mistaking me for someone else.
Hmm, not really but that's OK, these are your riots, this is your intifada, they are your muslims. This is your very own la République Française and you have every right in the world to give it away. I honestly don't care, I was just trying to help.

  2. Sounds like the French have everything under control:

FP: Let’s talk a little bit about the Islamization of France. We’ve got native French girls in certain communities, where Muslims are the majority, that now wear the veil because of the frequent occurrence of physical harassment, attack and rape. What’s going on here?
Miller: There are now about 5 million Muslims in France. They’re roughly 8 percent of the population. They’re a growing population, too. If current demographic trends hold, France could be a majority-Muslim country sometime this century. Unlike the United States, France does not have a proven tradition of assimilating large numbers of foreign-born people into its national traditions. As a result, we see the French struggling with how to integrate these newcomers. Their policies often badly misfire.

Guy Milliere, a French journalist, describes how anti-Western Islamic totalitarians are destroying Paris:
"The only things that are growing in France right now are crime and Islamism. Some readers have been amazed by the fact that teenaged girls and young women in many city districts have to wear the Islamic veil if they do not want to be harassed, but it gets worse. A few weeks ago, a young Arab burnt a teenaged girl alive in the suburbs of Paris. He was convicted of murder, but he became a hero and an example for other young Arabs living in the same kind of areas. Two months ago, 10 Arab men who raped another teenaged girl in another district were convicted and condemned to spend five years in jail. Yes, just five years. The Arab families left the court of justice shouting to the journalists it was unfair and they would look out for revenge. Eight days later, the court was burnt down during the night. The teenaged girl and her family have had to leave Paris, and hide in another part of the country."

For that kind of reporting, Milliere has had his life threatened.
"I have written columns in the French press concerning what's happening," he explains. "The response has been death threats, with color pictures of slit throats, anti-Semitic insults. There were Muslims in France 30 years ago, but they were not like the Muslims of today. They were moderate, they did not feel they could wield decisive political power in France, they did not think they were at war against Western civilization. Now it's clear that they think they are at war. Very few people are in jail in France (France does not have enough jails), but more than 60 per cent of the convicts are Muslims, and Islamist imams visit them on a weekly basis."

"Europe is being used as the perfect petri dish for Islamic radicalism. Simply put, the worst of the political culture of Islam is moving to Paris, London, and Berlin. In the name of Western tolerance for their faith, they want to impose non-Western, especially Islamic, intolerance upon their Western hosts. Call it the revenge of multiculturalism."

In short, they can be intolerant, but we can't.

  4. There are definitely problems in France, europe, and the world in general. However, I find that commentary rather excessive and, if I may interpret the tone, it certainly does not sound like anything comming from the work of an objective journalist.

In regards to the discussion concerning the rape sentence, that has nothing to do with a discussion on arabs, Islam, or immigration. Rape has always exited in every civilisation and the public's perception of unfair judgements is nothing new... whether the victim or the accused be arab or not.

  5. "We’ve got native French girls in certain communities, where Muslims are the majority, that now wear the veil because of the frequent occurrence of physical harassment, attack and rape."

Oh yes, a very common occurance. Coco Chanel & Yves Saint Laurent are now selling muslum wear ... DUH, what is this crap ?

What did this journalist do ? Go out and find some french girl that wears a viel and then concludes that this is common or something ?

This is like weeding out a few gay junkies with aids in Huston and then concluding, or least trying to imply, that Texans are fags on junk with aids in general.

Anyway, I'm not here to educate the cronically ignorant, enough said

  6. Ironically you're as off base about America as many others here are about France.........

When America was having even WORSE problems with blacks (we STILL do) than France with Muslims, we heard PLENTY from lily white Europeans about race relations. We haven't solved our problems so we sure as hell can't solve yours.....

I've got a GREAT idea for a bumper sticker. "What Would Hitler Do"? :D

  7. You sure do paint a positive picture. Everything negative said on this thread you counter with glowing, positive statements.

Anyone can Google a few key words such as France and ethnic violence and it will reveal that France has a growing, out of control problem. The news examples were from the first page of results of whatever search words I used. I did not find anything positive as you would suggest.

The French people are complacent about it, and the Muslims that are committing the violent acts do not heed the established Islamic authorities calls to stop the violence. It's not just France that's having a problem, but it's a growing problem in many countries in Europe, and the ones committing violent acts are being recruited by Al Qaeda.

    Some more interesting stuff:

    | September 15, 2006

PARIS -- Al Qaeda has for the first time announced a union with an Algerian insurgent group that has designated France as an enemy, saying they will act together against French interests....(Why, I thought Al Qaeda would leave France alone since they are not involved in Iraq. Quite a surprise.)

....According to French counter-intelligence, al Qaeda has recruited in France alone between 35,000 and 45,000 men and is organizing them into military-style units. They meet regularly for training in the use of weapons and explosives, combat tactics and indoctrination and are controlled from local and district command centers under the organization’s national French command......

    Goodbye France and Europe. Again.

  10. Woman critical after French riots

    October 29, 2006 - 9:47AM
A woman is fighting for her life after being severely burned when vandals set fire to a bus she was travelling on in the southern city of Marseille, a police source said today.

The attack occurred as France marked the first anniversary of riots that scarred the country's poor suburbs, inhabited largely by immigrants.

Something tells me that they were not immigrants from China, Vietnam or Poland.
