Thats one of the protocols of water therapy. There are also protocols around the vessel.Unfortunately,I still drink from a plastic bottle. Actually typing that makes me realise I need to remedy that.
ayurvedic says drinking cold water puts out the fire in the digestive system. So according to them its better for the digestive system more so in the morning. to add. You should eat your biggest meal in the middle of the day when ur digestive system is at optimum to digest and drink water 45 minutes after you eat nothing during.
As much as I like drinking water, room temperature water is not something I care for. Either hot green tea or ice cold water is my thang. As for meal timing, I have breakfast in 3 parts, so my lunch is only a homemade milkshake. But I have a mid-afternoon snack of walnuts, roasted pumpkin seeds and raisins, along with frozen banana slices. Dinner is fairly light compared to what it once used to be for me. And I prefer to drink water both during and after my meals. It may not be optimal, but I prefer it, and I'm sure I won't go off the rails for doing so. (There's gotta be some give-and-take, man.)
I’m with you. I follow some things but always allow preference and balance over all. I mean hello we only have one go at it
When and where the ayurvedic rules were coming out, the concept of ice didn't exist. they are probably referring to standard room temp water vs heated water.
I agree room temp water is better than cold. in the Mongolian desert they drink warm tea to cool down as they can drink more of it.
I can't comment on the biology of it, but if I were parched in the desert, I'd opt for ice water, given the choice. Beside, drinking ice cold water burns a few extra calories.
Ice water might not be so good for you. https://www.onlymyhealth.com/side-effects-of-drinking-ice-cold-water-in-summer-1714032271
