"There are only four bodily fluids that transmit the HIV virus between persons—blood, vaginal secretions, semen, and breast milk—thus, there are only a handful of types of transmissible activities including, but not limited to, vaginal, anal, and oral sex; blood transfusions; needle exchange between two or more individuals; vaginal birth; or breastfeeding."

Freemarkets, HIV can transmit from ALL of these. It is not just anal sex.
So it is dangerous to think it is just gay people and anal sex.

hmm..... there comes a point where apology by the perpetrators for their heinous crimes, disqualifies the credibility of playing a persecution card on their behalf.

You would not deem it worthy at any price to make excuses for self-professed pedophiles and the ecumenical organization that knowingly provided shelter and covered up innumerable despicable assaults on children ?

Merely because they both happen to be Christian ?

    Would you?

If you would, then I for one thank goodness God is not above the law.

  4. Is there a person on this thread who can prove that bad things happen because of christianity instead of inspite of it??? I would really love to see the person who proves to me that if Christianity exists people die...... Just because people choose to abuse religion it doesnt mean that religion is inherriently evil, if you are too stupid to figure that simple point out, you DESERVE to end up in a ditch.......

Please show AND prove to me that because someone became a catholic, that catholisiscm set him off the edge and he chose to commit heinous crimes because the catholic church told him to do so, as opposed to the opposit.....

I'll tell you what, you prove Christianity or religious belief on the whole, doesn't cause bad things to happen.

Are you saying Islam does not cause more people to kill themselves and other innocents than would be the case if it wasn't for that religion?

Are you suggesting the circumstances which encouraged and nurtured pedophiles to congregate (how appropriate a collective noun .... 'Congregation' of pedophiles ) in a religious organization called the Roman Catholic Church, would have been able to practice their perversions as easily and to such large a scale without being under the cover of religion?

It does indicate that when people make assumptions they are doing things in the name of and to the glory of and with the blessing of God, it takes more essential things like the law, and a sense of common decency, to put things right again., Which proves to me anyway that religion, God and Christianity in this case, do cause and facilitate greatly, bad things to happen.

  6. Wow that is a piss poor argument, tell me something, in your mind would Osama Bin Laden still have existed withpout Christianity, Muslinism?

Do you actually believe the reason these nut jobs exist is SOLELY because of religion? Do you really believe these assholes would not have been able to find a new excuse to persecute people? Give me a fucknig break...... I can give you as many,IF NOT MORE examples of religion doing good, it is just not news worthy when someone decides to feed a starving child..... I bet you i could find atleadt 10,000 people who are alive today because of religious charities, can you find 10,000 people who are dead just based on todays stats.....

  7. Very valid point. Actually, probably the most logical conclusion and I think this is where we are at today.

I don't mean for counterpoints to mean excuses.

Ultimate responsibility to protect the child is the parent, not the Pope (although we have higher expectations from the Pope).

The State doesn't do a much better job protecting society. Will the court apologize for releasing a repeat offender while shuffling a convict to and fro?

  8. Can anyone on this thread argue the fact that hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of people who would have starved to death will eat today because of religious charities i challenge anyone to find a death count which will beat the number of people who will LIVE today based on religion.....

There is only one true example of a "christian", all the rest of us are woeful to view as an example. We fall short of the mark, but continue to crawl towards the finish line.

I agree with your distaste for organized religion, and I view it as no different than any other organization.........a man made structure.

The US government has it share of pedophiles and every other type of human failure known to man, every organization does. I would even bet that the church of Darwin has its share also!

I mean no offense to you stu, but to disregard the many good and righteous works by people of faith, on behalf of humanity at large, is allowing your passionate bias to cloud your sight.

  10. EXACTLY!!! And you know what??? i am An Atheist!!! Well somewhat i guess, i believe in a higher power, i.e. some kind of creator, just not organised religion, i just dont understand the biggotry towards organised religion, spirituality has brought a lot of good into my life... just believeing in something better and trying to do something better in my life.... To try to say that religion has caused more harm than good is flat out ignorant......
