The idea that the military answers to civilian leadership had been reaffirmed.

  4. Now the Mcguy respects the president, and may even be scared of him, rather than the President scared of Mcguy.

    The President needs now to do the same to some Israel leaders, so that they pay attention and they stop committing crimes which hurt America's prestige and standing in the world.

    Yes it has, as it should be.

    BUT the fact that we have high ranking generals that have no respect for the current CIC has also been reaffirmed. And I understand and see why.
    Even if I don't approve of the General doing a Rolling Stone Interview to express his lack of respect.

    I am not aware of McChrystal disobeying civilian leadership. I am not aware of any great point of principle separating him and Obama. He said he supported and voted for Obama, so it seems a little strange that he turns around and is mocking Obma's leadership.

    Basically, he was fired for shooting his mouth off to a reporter, not for insubordination or subverting civilian leadership. So the premise of this thread is total nonsense.
