And forgot to mention ^ the most faked watch IMO. Easy to spot, and I often wonder about the guy wearing it.

Yeah, the dealers bashing Rolex are highly likely dealers Rolex turned down from the start. (Have small background in this. PM if curious) Even stores that look like pure class, turned down by Rolex. And some pristine stores, find out in a day, Rolex is pulling out of THEIR store. I'll say, Rolex still does maintain standards others could only dream of. In fact, my breitling is far inferior, IMO. Looks like a stud, but has a certain, "may break down anytime" aura about it. Lol

Sure, a Mille tourbillon is proof of God, but it's also $300K and you don't dare play a round of golf while wearing it. There is literally no better timekeeper, in my history of collecting (some 300 watches), than the 3135. And certainly no more durable mech. movement; save for the Lemania 5100 which is essentially out of production.

Includes many models of PP, Breguet, AP, JLC, Omega, IWC, Lange, Glashutte, etc.

I bought a SS Sub from a Chicago dealer on Jeweler's Row (98?) and the salesman lived in my condo bldg. He gave me 20% off and there was a friggin Rolex rep in the store who overheard the conversation. They fired the guy and the store lost their AD rep. Dealer name started with a "C" but can't recall the name

^ Am wanting the new Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean in orange w/stainless bracelet, that's in 42mm. For some reason, this Omega catches me looking every time.

And IWC's very nice! In fact, a broker I once worked with wore one, and people didn't bother him asking what it was, as it wasn't the typical two time sub they were so used to. Like these well!

My list of spots models that should not depreciate:

    DSSD/Daytona
    IWC ceramic doppel
    IWC Big Pilot
    Omega Ploprof

Personally I would stick with those. All are over $10K, so buy what you like and try not to concern yourself with appreciation. Is a 20% hit after 10y worth the "rental"?

The above are bad asses. And yes, would do a Daytona. Possibly a black dial, white gold ("silver" for LOS to understand.) And what can I say about IWC? Gifted hands build these. And yes, do love the ceramic bezels Rolex FINALLY put on Subs. Huge improvement in my eyes.
10-25% drop doesn't bother me if it's one I waited/saved for, and will keep 10+yrs. I'll gladly pay for good service, and quality along the way. Just wish my E550 "depreciated" as slow as the above.:( Am wanting a PRISTINE E63 I could get into very well via price, but cringe at the out of pocket due to DROP that levels after time-10 years. Can't wait that long, lol. :)

Forgot to mention, guy at the range has a Sub LV 50th Anv. He wants $5100 for. I thought that was a strange number, but when I looked it up, am thinking about hitting up savings. This is the CHEAPEST I can find one for: http://www.bobswatches.com/rolex-submariner-green-anniversary-edition-16610v.html
And keep in mind, this is pre-ceramic bezel.:( I actually like the ceramic bezels, but wouldn't keep me from owning this. Didn't think I'd like green, but when I tried it on, changed pretty quick. The markers have a wild glow about them, and the green in the bezel is some kind of a rich, or deep kind of green with a hint of "glow" if you will. (Hard to describe)
Would you pay $4800 for it? Think he may take it being gun buying season* and my throwing out that # last time.

    * Gun buying season for most being fall, and winter. For me, the dead of summer is the time to find deals on used.

  8. The E550 is a great car-- I had the AMG Hammer, and the c63-- the E550 is very close to the E63-- not enough of a difference sans the badging to make a noticeable difference.

The Daytona is a girls watch, imho--- what is that 38-- 40mm??-- my wife wears mine with a yellow strap and yellow dial----- which they made in a very limited edition.

I wear Roger Dubuis Excalibur Chronoexcel, Roger Dubuis Easy Diver with orange, Ulysess Nardin Maxi Marine, Franck Muller Crazy Hours, Franck Muller Grand Prix in red titanium---- all bought in the grey market at a fraction of retail. Paying retail for most watches is moronic.

  10. The DSSD on a Nato or rubber strap is decent, the others-- well, not my taste.
