The Herd, Vaccine and Natural Immunity Thread....

Discussion in 'Politics' started by jem, May 21, 2020.

  1. This independent researcher has went through research papers to look for the ways this spike protein is causing harm.

The spike protein will take years off your life every time you are exposed. Viral infection or injection are both bad news.

For the morons like GWB who deny the existence of herd in immunity... (throughout history even)

Brazil achieved herd immunity vs Zika

How Do You Achieve Herd Immunity?

There are two ways this can happen.

You can develop resistance naturally. When your body is exposed to a virus or bacteria, it makes antibodies to fight off the infection. When you recover, your body keeps these antibodies. Your body will defend against another infection. This is what stopped the Zika virus outbreak in Brazil. Two years after the outbreak began, 63% of the population had had exposure to the virus. Researchers think the community reached the right level for herd immunity.

Ah ... @jem ... I don't think anyone denies that herd immunity is a real thing.

And it should be noted the path to herd immunity from diseases spread by insects (arbovirus) is different than diseases spread by human "contact" (respiratory, etc.). The self-limiting of spread at about the 50% level in society seen with measles & other diseases is not present when mosquitoes are spreading a disease. Mosquitoes can easily spread zika and other similar diseases to a large portion of a local population. The other possible transmission route for Zika is sexual transmission -- but the R factor for this sexual transmission path is below 1.

  5. You going to compare Zika to COVID now?

I give up on intelligent discusion..

You know how PANAMA defeated malaria and yellow fever in Panama.... NOT BY HERD IMMUNITY... but by simply reducing the amount of mosquitos avaialble to spread the disease. The government with U.S. medical assistance worked to remove standing water, spray oils on the surfaces or water bodies to reduce laying of eggs, used mosquito netting to keep out the fuckers, stop using water pans to keep ants off of hospital beds, sprayed around the towns and cities.... because with an insect you just need to reduce the bug to bite transmissions...

Herd immunity did not wipe out malaria and yellow fever in Panama, reducing the dirty water and proliferation of mosquitos helped stop the spread and reduction of yellow fever carrying mosquitos, once they die so is the infected blood in them.

Go read the story about the building of the Panama Canal -- and the mosquito eradication efforts that came out of this.

This was directed at those who deny the existence natural herd immunity as a concept.
Do you deny the existence of natural herd immunity?

Anyone who thinks they are going to reach "natural herd immunity" with COVDI-19 or any other virus with similar characteristics which is not transmitted by insects -- has a screw loose.

The path to herd immunity with Covid-19 is via vaccinated herd immunity.

eh...given enough time and enough dead, herd immunity is feasible. We've had viruses killing humans for tens of thousands of years. You don't think a few of those have gone extinct? Hell, was smallpox killing many in Europe b4 it wiped the Indians out in the Americas? Was syphilis even a thing in the Americas before it started wiping out Europeans?

    FWIW:
The human genome contains billions of pieces of information and around 22,000 genes, but not all of it is, strictly speaking, human. Eight percent of our DNA consists of remnants of ancient viruses, and another 40 percent is made up of repetitive strings of genetic letters that is also thought to have a viral origin.
