Why Don’t We Ever Develop Immunity Against the Common Cold? https://www.technologynetworks.com/...velop-immunity-against-the-common-cold-294551
Thank you for making my point---- Contained within the article----"Thanks to this variation, antibodies are unable to detect new strains," So you see, you do not catch the same cold twice. You build up immunity to one strain of the virus and then catch another strain. It's the same for all coronaviruses-----
About 20 percent of "cold" viruses (of the hundreds of variants of a few major virus classes ) are they say coronavirus mutants. If covid-19 a coronavirus can be caught twice assuming immunity lost quickly, you can indeed get the same cold twice assuming some familial similarity with lost resistance. Buy1 does not understand the difference between "colds" and influenzas still it seems.
False of course. You may be able to catch a different strain of the coronavirus, but not the same one. Deadly strains kill their hosts and fade away and mutated strains are weaker with occasional stronger strains. This current strain has hit The Vulnerable but hasn't had much effect on healthy folks---Kids, adults etc. ---The point that you Leftists attempt to make is that we need a lockdown until a vaccine. But a vaccine may not be a cure-all for The Kung Flu and CCP Virus will probably be here each year. Even it is a cure-all and goes away, we never needed a lockdown in the first place. We just needed to protect The Vulnerable and everyone else needs to go about business as usual. We just needed education.
The results from 15 sailors on the aircraft carrier demonstrated clearly you can catch the exact same strain of COVID-19 twice. 40% of the sailors did not develop antibodies after being infected. These facts are well documented -- you can go look up the studies in previous threads.
You can get the same strain twice if the antibodies for that strain are eliminated too quickly. What is increasingly clear is that individual responses to immunity retention are very important with covid-19 and its of course massive number of little mutations. You are an old minded man now and I see you use the term static analysis in another post, I expect you are accused of this a lot so think its clever to raise it first. What you are guilty of etc.. We needed to lockdown until we knew what we were dealing with. Flatten the curve was very sensible and proper. You talk about protecting the vulnerable in a kind of general oh just do that way without an eye to the details. You have to identify the vulnerable, often they are alone, in nuclear families or younger people with specific conditions, you have to train care home staff in entirely new and watertight processes. When you have an assisted living facility, keeping covid-19 out is vastly harder in the first months when the staff are mixing in a wild spreading population. This is something Sweden learned and hard, it gets in too easily until the pathways are figured out. But hey, you just want to gurn at the screen I think. If not can you share how three months ago vulnerable people would have been protected?
Your other points are ridiculous. I'll answer this one. ----Same way they are now. Be careful and others look out to protect The Vulnerable. (wash your hands, social distance, don't touch your face). The only real way to get this is by touching your face. Train yourself not to do that. I'll never catch The Kung Flu. I have trained myself not to touch my face until I wash my hands. I have never worn a mask. I have not caught CCP Virus.
