The "haves" and the have "N.O.T.S." (Novice Options Traders)

  1. qqqq spreads at OS are maxed out...so all that is left is to get the more volatile stuff allocated and ready to go...

Folks don't be worried or depressed for us...this is trading in a longer term way and the money managment that I use will preserve the account, giving it time for some gains in the second half of the year.

Diversification and money management is what is appropriate for the illustration, that this thread is providing.

We have made far too much yield to start fixing what works. As far as Crowder, this is a new advisory for me and I really need to give it a chance. It is unfortunate that as soon as we join, it produced some back to back losses...but that is usually the way it is, isn't it? :)

Every dollar that I trade/allocate is money that I can lose, so don't worry be happy. I mainly concern myself when deciding where to allocate capital with decisions about throwing good money to bad...Efficiency is of the utmost importance and we do not want to throw good money to bad. Crowder will simply not get any increase for now, but is definatley still in the game.

  3. So now why would I want to throw AutoTrade out the Window and go to some Yahoo chat after two years of success?

Yes! I would like to learn how to trade options, but I choose to learn by watching the various trades that these AutoTrades put on. And compare, learn and ask why?...This is a far more efficient way for me to learn. The trouble I had early on in this thread was the discovery that I could be violating the terms and conditions of the advisories and of ET and had to stop posting the signals and discussions before and after..Out of requests to continue from some ET readers, posters and lurkers, I am posting the allocations spreadsheet for review and discussion.

Do not misunderstand me. I did not receive any formal complaints from the advisories or from ET...I just stopped on my own as I wanted to do the right thing and set a good example.

Sometimes it is difficult for me to share, as many of my threads involve specific uses of the tools at my disposal, which may not be appropriate to disclose, as it could inadvertently serve as an advertisement on a sponsored forum and/or the disclosure of proprietary information.

Another succesful trade for Crowder yesterday. Electric, why don't you ask Optionsmart and Crowder if you could post their trades after the fact. They seem to publish them after the tare anyway. I am sure they would appreciate the forum as an educational source. Give it a try! Anyway, I was hoping to hear about other auto-trade services on this thread. Pros and cons. So far we have mentioned three that we know are legit, wiseoptions, crowder investment research and smart options. All three seem to have good track records and a good approach to trading options. Any thoughts on any of these subjects would be greatly appreciated. And, again, electric, give it a try!

  5. I would need the permission from ET...Why would I get special priveledges over others here? I don't think it will fly...It is not really fair to the sponsors here for me to be advertising and reporting about advisories. When I started this thread my intentions were good, and I think many folks who do not understand options can get their feet wet.

I think that I can only post my stuff...which is the money managment portion of the thing....

  6. Rhogaine,
I've researched the advisories that autotrade with Thinkorswim. Cash Flow Avenue and Peak Investing seem to have a solid approach and result along with the 3 you mentioned, though I don't know how one could verify previous claimed results. I look for steady gains with small and few drawdowns.

  7. Well Folks,

All good things must come to an end. I have communicated what I want and I hope it has been helpful to you...To go on without new information is pointless. We just continue the boring job of execution.

I have some other projects that need attending to and will not be posting updates here for our options trading, as this is not a Journal anyways...

You guys got the spreadsheet right?

Good trading to you...and we are at an 800 dollar loss for this year so far, but I expect it to end the year with a respectable plus yield. I hope those of you that can see the value of this way of trading are prosperous as well.

The good set up for more active traders is
    • Crowder
    • Peak Investing

    For the more conservative traders:
    • OptionSmart qqqq spreads ONLY.

I've subscribed to WiseOptions SPX service 2 months ago. I am starting slowly trading only 1 spread (Iron Condor) at a time for now in ThinkOrSwim.
I had one closed trade so far and it made 14.91% after subtracting commission. The current trade will make 9.8% Saturday if we don't have a market crash :) .
The returns posted on their site are smaller than mine because they are measuring them on their whole simulated account while I am measring them on my margin.
I had a couple of questions and they responded to me very quickly.
So far I am happy with them but I am waiting to see what they are going to do if the market goes against them.

So how did it go? Did they have to adjust or are they waiting it out. Today was a sharp decline. Good thing about today, Crowder was profitable once again. Electric, I am sorry tohear that you will not be participating in the forum any longer. Too bad. I thought the running commentary was nice and helpful and i think many others thought that way as well. Anyway, thanks for the useful info and good luck with optionsmart and crowder.

No, they didn't have to adjust yet, we still have some cushion left. Let's see what happens tomorrow.
