The hard road to consistency

  1. you can do a google search on it, it has to do with the difference between American Baseball and Japanese Baseball. They are not both searching for the same thing. The point of this thread is not how to make money, but rather, what happens when you calmly follow rules.

  2. winning attitude?

  3. OK... the Japanese ideal of unity, team play and no individual heroes in baseball.

What does this have to do with why you gave me a rash of &&$# for my post? What was wrong with the post relative to this Japanese ideal??? What was wrong with my post relative to what you state the thread is supposed to be about?

  4. I'm not so sure that is incorrect. I bitch and moan about my losses just to let others know it happens to everybody.

There are so many cocksure unrealistict so called new traders on ET that I never like to talk about my winners. Who wants to add fuel to the fire?

But yes, I would agree. It's always nice to hear from someone who just made it through a hard time

And at that point, they always seem to have a good attitude.

I'm kind of cynical. The way I see it, if you are bitching about taxes, you are probably doing ok.

  5. I'm trying hard to get rid of any attitude when I'm attempting to enter or exit a position. Just complete focus on what is unfolding in front of me.

  6. your suggestions about how to make money were vulgar. The guy is not trying to make money, he is trying to get calm and follow his rules.

I give him a hard time now and then because I have never known anybody to be profitable bracket trading. But that is just to let him know somebody is reading his journal, and it's not a waste of time.

as a matter of fact, I find his late night trades (for those of us in USA) with those tight stops to be quite calming.

There's a time and a place to make money, and a time to be polite.

  7. "The guy is not trying to make money"????

Have you lost your mind oldtime? Of course he's trying to make money. Did you read his very first post??? He wants to be consistent for a reason--- to eliminate the mistakes of violating his discipline that have caused him "big chunks of profit". "Profit" equates to "money" oldtime... if he becomes more consistent he equates that to making more money.

And "vulgar"??? Reaaaaally oldtime.. really? Vulgar? LOL

Have you been drinking your scotch again?

  8. no, I am too poor to drink Scotch, down here we drink that good old Kentucky Whiskey, sometimes known as Bourbon.

ok, carry on. I'm just sorry to see a thread from London, that has kept me company all these nights when the Euro has been moving against me trashed.

But maybe that's a sign things are going to change.

otherwise, you are a really obnoxious "know it all"

  9. "Trashed"...???

Making a multiple timeframe suggestion and pointing out the importance and reasoning behind having an established identifiable target in advance of an executed trade is your definition of "trashing" a thread? Trying to help improve this OP's performance makes me obnoxious?

And for the record -- I never ever have claimed to "know it all"... on the contrary... I am always studying and looking to learn and improve... however what I can tell you is when I do make a suggestion it comes with a proven personal empirical history behind it... otherwise I wouldn't be making the comment in the first place.

    Do you understand oldtime?

  10. I understand. You are right. I was wrong. My fault.
