To summarize then. So far your evidence for imaginary Bible God is.. The Bible must be true because the Bible must be true because A Dead Sea Scroll taken by Christian interpretation to mean a Marty McFly Back to the Future - Prophetic Perfect Tense. Even though imaginary Bible God declares itself, that it destroyed all living things, you say it didn’t. I’m not surprised you’re laughing. That must be the worst explanation, excuse and contradiction since the dog ate my homework and I was wondering when you’d eventually reach for the old worn out religious context chestnut. Here we have an Imaginary God which unequivocally identifies itself in its own instruction book as a murderous, homicidal, genocidal maniac who couldn’t even be God enough to get things right the first time, so decided to kill every living thing, including itself eventually. And you say you love your imaginary friend for doing that! Why? Because in context, Bible God had an imaginary Ark made. A story about the mass killing of every living thing on earth but that’s ok, because a few get sent off in a magic boat.
This video gives a partial response to the video Stu just posted. The Bible says God is a RIGHTEOUS JUDGE. "Righteousness and justice are the foundation of thy throne"(Psalms 89:14). The Bible is clear that EVERY sin will be judged. See Hebrews 2:2. God's judgment and wrath is real. “For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them." Romans 1:18 God considers rejection of Himself as worthy of punishment. “As for you, my son Solomon, know the God of your father, and serve Him with a whole heart and a willing mind; for the Lord searches all hearts, and understands every intent of the thoughts. If you seek Him, He will let you find Him; but if you forsake Him, He will reject you forever." 1 Chronicles 28:9 How can a loving God be wrathful and inflict eternal punishment? BECAUSE HE IS A RIGHTEOUS JUDGE and we are sinful. CONSIDER THE ULTIMATE CRIME: TRYING TO MURDER GOD....yet that is what humans have done. Jesus went about doing good, and healing people but people murdered him. WHY SHOULD GOD CONTINUE TO LET ANYONE EVEN LIVE AFTER THE MURDER OF GOD? Because He used His death to provide a way for us to be reconciled to Himself, completely forgiven, and the promise of having the sinful self that is now a part of us, completely die off once in heaven, the promise of only good, in existence with the only Good God. God wanted humans to have the choice to love Him or reject Him. The warnings are certainly in the Bible. But so is the offer of love and forgiveness.
What did Jesus mean when He said to not cast your pearls before swine (Matthew 7:6)? https://www.gotquestions.org/pearls-before-swine.html @studentofthemarkets Note: I have blocked many swine in these forums, so they may not see this post without extra effort on their part. I've added the emphasis below: "...Then in verse 6, Christ tempers these admonitions and shows us the difference between “judgment” and “discernment.” We are not to be hypocritical judges, yet we must be able to discern the swine, lest we cast our pearls before them. Before Jesus says, “Do not cast your pearls before swine,” He says, “Do not give dogs what is sacred.” An analogy mentioning dogs is also used in Proverbs: “As a dog returns to its vomit, so a fool repeats his folly” (Proverbs 26:11). A dual reference to swine and dogs is also found in 2 Peter 2:22, “Of [false teachers] the proverbs are true: ‘A dog returns to its vomit,’ and, ‘A sow that is washed goes back to her wallowing in the mud.’” In His sermon, Jesus uses dogs and pigs as representative of those who would ridicule, reject, and blaspheme the gospel once it is presented to them. We are not to expose the gospel of Jesus Christ to those who have no other purpose than to trample it and return to their own evil ways. Repeatedly sharing the gospel with someone who continually scoffs and ridicules Christ is like casting pearls before swine. We can identify such people through discernment, which is given in some measure to all Christians (1 Corinthians 2:15–16). The command not to cast your pearls before swine does not mean we refrain from preaching the gospel. ... In essence, the instruction in Matthew 7:6 is the same that Jesus gave to His apostles when He said, “If anyone will not welcome you or listen to your words, shake the dust off your feet when you leave that home or town” (Matthew 10:14). We are to share the gospel, but, when it becomes apparent that the gospel is not welcome, we are to move on. We are responsible to share the good news; we are not responsible for people’s response to the good news. Pigs don’t appreciate pearls, and some people don’t appreciate what Christ has done for them. Our job is not to force conversions or cram the gospel down people’s throats; there’s no sense in preaching the value of pearls to swine. Jesus’ instruction to His apostles on how to handle rejection was to simply go elsewhere. There are other people who need to hear the gospel, and they are ready to hear it."
I just realized that Frank has been here lately starting threads using different names. This guy is unbelievably weird. Hard core Christian no matter what the real evidence is. lol
Originally I was not going to look at this video because, to me, it was simply too long. But, I ended up watching the whole thing anyway. Typically, when I listen to a genuine testimony, it connects with God's Spirit in me and I have an emotional reaction (like, this always happens, I believe). But in this case, it didn't, and I even found myself asking, "Is this woman for real, or is she just an actress?" However, all of the words she spoke rang true to my ears, so I'm going to give her the benefit of the doubt until and unless I have reason to do otherwise... P.S. I just watched part of a video posted by Mariah Jones (the woman above) on August 6, 2020, and in this recording, I sensed the Spirit of God in her.
That same video came up in my recommended videos on you tube about an hour ago and I had just finished skimming through it when I saw that you posted it. Kind of funny, the timing of it. Anyhow, I was concerned with that video because there was no mention of the gospel...that Jesus died for our sins and rose again. The Bible is very clear that Jesus' death and burial are what our faith must take hold of for salvation to take place. Yet, it did seem like Jesus had delivered her, and she did say she gave her life to Him a few days later. After you posted it, I took another look at it and found the link below it to an updated video. I just finished watching that one....it's much longer, so I watched in fast mode. In this second video she gives a very clear presentation on how to become a born again Christian. If anyone ever comes across these posts and wants Jesus to be their Savior, I highly recommend taking the time to watch this 2nd, updated video. She will walk you through what it means to repent (turn to God from ourselves/sin) and simply ask Jesus to become your Savior based on the substitution He became for us, that He died on the cross for our sins, taking the punishment that was due to us for our sins. He rose from dead 3 days later, and lives forevermore. I can also testify of my own experience of God revealing Himself to me through many of the same verses she shared in a way very similar to how she experienced faith in Jesus as a Savior.
I was doing the same thing. I watched the first part, then some of the section that had text, and then a few seconds of her talking afterward. But the second I began to look at this video (from August 6, 2020) I felt like I was listening to someone in whom God's Spirit was residing, so it's interesting to me that she said she was legalistic before and did not fully understand the Gospel.
