Remember when the Republicans demanded the Democrats stay in session so a government shutdown could be avoided? Others do.

'Enjoy Your Weekend'; Biden Burns House GOP In The Best Way

President Biden responded Thursday to the news that House Speaker Kevin McCarthy called a weekend recess without a deal in place between the MAGA Freedom Caucus and moderate Republicans, making a government shutdown imminent.

Biden: "Last time there was a government shutdown, 800,000 Americans were furloughed or worked without pay. But enjoy your weekend."

McCarthy has completely lost control of his conference; complaining Thursday that the MAGA members just wanted to "burn the whole place down". Any deal struck in the House that grants the pro-Trump caucus their demands is dead on arrival in the Senate, not to mention once it gets to Biden's desk for signature.

The federal government is headed toward catastrophe directly as a result of Republican's lack of ability to govern, and McCarthy's weakness in getting his members in line.

Government shutdowns have a real impact on American lives, and Biden is right to call them out for their BS.

Biden's messaging around his support of workers has been on point. He also released a campaign ad this week using Republican candidates' own words against them, calling him a "pro-union President."

“I didn’t come here to shut the government down or play stupid games so we could raise $5 donations by claiming we’re doing something and sticking it to the administration, when in fact all they would be doing is screwing the American people.”

GOPer urges fellow Republicans to put Biden impeachment aside to keep government open
    https://www.rawstory.com/ken-buck-slams-gop/

Rep. Ken Buck (R-CO), a conservative stalwart and longtime member of the far-right House Freedom Caucus who has been increasingly at odds with many of his colleagues, warned on CNN that the House GOP needs to put impeachment of President Joe Biden on hold — at least for the time being — and focus on keeping the government open.
