Was the war about slavery or not? You said yourself it wasn't about slavery. I agree, slavery in and of itself was not the primary driver. Lincoln himself said he would fight the war regardless of whether or not a single slave was made free. His primary reason for fighting the war was to prevent the Union from dividing. That can be argued as a good or bad decision, but the issue of slavery was used by both sides to justify their positions.
So how come you are not fighting slavery in africa?, It continues to this day or at least so says the lame stream media. It's the most evil thing on earth for a Southerner to have done so 150 yrs ago (and you're still pissed off about it) but evidently you are okay with muslims in africa doing the same NOW.
