"The good news is that earnings expectations have been ratcheted down"

    Pulled this out of an article and had to post it here...quite amazing isn't it.
    Lowered expectations are good. Hmmmmm really....so this is what this has come down to.....keep the expectations as low as possible so every company beats their bottom line. ....amazing how the game is played. I never knew that earnings expectations that have been "ratcheted down" was something that would be said on wallstreet as something relating to the phrase good news.


    The good news is that earnings expectations have been ratcheted down over the past few weeks," said Todd Salamone, director of research at Schaeffer's Investment Research. "Lowered expectations are good because that's a lower hurdle to jump over…and a lot depends on the outlook."
