All the smart people I know who were objectivists outgrew it in high school.

all of any rand’s hero’s (except the anthem guy) went to college and excelled.

Again you're contradicting yourself and your lap dog newwurld is just joining in because he's a blind follower. Undoubtedly education is a wonderful thing.

What's rich is that you're still relying on your credentials (in a different field no less) to claim you know better than any other (also educated) person w.r.t. to a field you haven't even studied formally. Who's to say I don't have a PhD in political economy? Do you know that?

You have to convince "the masses" that socialism is better. You can't impose it by will. Therefore, you're not arguing against me gents... you're arguing against free-market advocates and libertarian thinkers; not random folks on the 'net. You can poke fun that Ayn Rand's material is introductory all you want, but it's not an argument.

Just to be clear... are you really trying to defend socialism as being superior to free-market capitalism? If you believe in socialism, why don't you take all your money and simply give it to the government? No one is stopping you.

I didn't do that. I only pointed out that in the battle of ideas, your degree doesn't matter as much as you'd like.

Lol, funny... but I'd rather hear a defense of your position. So I'll ask you again... if you believe in socialism, why don't you just give all your money to the government?

I am not a socialist. That you try and affix that label would be puzzling except it is par for the course lately in propoganda. This goes back to Clint arguing with the empty chair at the RNC. If you are frustrated and want to fantasy role play, hire a hooker.

Ok... but you are, at the least, advocating for government control and intervention in numerous aspects of private life. That can't be denied.

And so, where and how should that intervention be determined and by whom? How can you convince me that such a system could be created that limits its own power when we know there are fundamentally anti-social people who are inclined to corruption.

How can you guarantee that the government won't simply become a magnet for those types of people and turn into an ever expanding leviathan which does nothing but oppress honest and hardworking folks?

Isn't that fear exactly why you don't want people voting for Trump?

Socialism is a specific thing, a type of government.

If you mean social programs in democracy or full Marxist socialism you need to get specific.

It seems you are challenging me to explain how government control, which I seem to support in some areas, could remain checked and free from abuse?

I guess your education did pay off a little ;)

Don't be surprised if all my responses from now on are just references to Rothbard.
