Lol... more contradictions and libtard stupidity.

    Covid: follow the science
Stock market: quant math and computer technology doesn't work

Just because you failed Tux, doesn't mean others are failing too. Do you still get around using horse and buggy?

It is a cartoon Spy, just one of those pre-start projector funnies that go with a few puzzles for the students who arrive a little early.

You just do the work and the results will come.

You're a peculiar sort Tux. Very peculiar. I can't believe the stuff you write, and I'm not sure you believe it either. Of course... it could be that I'm not sure you believe what you write, and so you have difficultly convincing me of it. LMK when your thoughts are better organized.

I wasn't doing trading school classes. I have a masters in computer science not Trump University or intelligent design institute gifting :)

Get some rest. I have some flying stuff to study.

    Big deal.

Some of the smartest people I've met had nothing more than a high school diploma and I've fixed plenty of bugs implemented by groups of PhDs from ivy league institutions. Academics love showing off their credentials. But, these days it's usually just them patting themselves on the back and cheap signalling.

In fact, a masters is probably the worst degree you can get... it only takes two years and at best it's a consolation prize for PhD candidates that couldn't finish. There are middling masters programs throughout the country that are handing out diplomas not even worth a bachelors from a top tier school. Many of these flimsy diplomas amount to little more than a certification.

Both Bezos and Musk have nothing more than a bachelors; Gates couldn't even manage that. So, I'm not impressed by your supposed credentials.

You need to abandon arguments from authority and convince us that the ideas themselves hold water. As far as I can tell, your support currently amounts to: I'm Tux, my mom loves me, and I say big government socialism is great... everyone should agree with me.

    You must do better.

"There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there has always been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge."

Isaac Asimov 1980 essay titled A Cult of Ignorance, published in Newsweek.

Throughout history, thinkers like Plato, Tocqueville, Mill, and Ortega y Gasset have critiqued democracy when it elevates uninformed opinions to the same level as expert knowledge. They feared that the rule of the masses could lead to the suppression of intellectual minorities, poor decision-making, and the dominance of mediocrity over wisdom.

I wasn't touting credentials, I was saying that I am not not qualified to teach trading to university students as my degree is in computer science. It is an advanced degree which puts me at the minimum requirement to get a part time lecturer contract (for tax reasons).

@spy While, of course, there are intelligent uneducated people, education equips individuals with critical skills and a shared framework that fosters collaboration and progress. It creates a common scaffold that allows for the advancement of civilization, enabling people to build on collective knowledge and work effectively in teams. Dismissing education entirely risks undermining the very structures that drive innovation and societal growth.

Gates and Musk could have achieved little without universities providing them with staff than could work a certain way.
