Curious how he was given a generous headstart...

I always have wondered if he came from money before he even started trading

  2. If you read Market Wizards, PTJ was mentored by Eli Tulis, one of the best cotton traders of his time.
It appears that PTJ returned the favor to grandpa Eli by letting his grandson intern at Tudor Investment.

Hi friends. PTJ is by far one of the best traders to ever walk this earth.

His net worth, I think, is about $3.2 billion to date.

If you want to watch the documentary on YouTube it's here (55min long):

Also: Here's an exert of the interview with him from Market Wizards (I think): http://www.curatedalpha.com/2011/curated-interview-with-paul-tudor-jones-from-market-wizards/

He's an interesting character. In his interview he basically says that his whole goal is to not lose money, and he is very risk averse, and he is more fearful now than he was back at the start (because he's seen what markets can do).

Just interesting to see him have such a defensive attitude.

I also feel the same way. I never get cocky, ever. The day you smile at your PNL and think you're special is going to be your last profitable day for a while. It will haunt you and take you to the grave.

    Hope this helps

  8. The oringinal is for sale-- this is not the redacted one that is often seen on youtube but the original with all the "questionable" and "interesting" material prior to the edited spliced version--- the asking price is the highest bidder with bids starting at $3500. See what THEY don't want you to know.

  10. Not only was he mentored: he worked in the Cotton ring. And when you stand in the ring with cash business, everyone is at your beckon call.

It's hard to screw up a tailwind like that, but I suppose it's possible. What he's gone on to do, though, proves that he has a particular talent for what does.

Plus they say he's a genuinely good person.
