The future of trading = bull or bear?

  1. I've been a fulltime trader (equities) for over 10 years now (wow times does fly). Anyway I'm curious as to what others thoughts are on the profession going forward? I can't imagine myself doing anything else but lately I've been thinking.

Do you think trading might one day cease to exist (at least what we've come to know as trading today)? The goverment really seems to want to curb speculation these days. I'm pretty sure this transaction tax isn't going to happen but whats next? I mean maybe you'll need 7 figures in order to trade. I guess thats always been the one thing thats scared me my entire trading career - that it could disappear overnight due to regulation, etc.

But then I guess we would always find something to trade. This socialist crap just scares me to death when I really think about it. I love my job and the freedom it brings (priceless to me). I'm a self made man who enjoys not working for the man. I pay my taxes and provide for my family, etc. I just hope they never take that away from me...

    Sorry for the rant,
