I doubt Bloomberg will go forward with it or he will serve it in a way so that it certainly won't pass. Campaign promises and politicians....
In addition to futures, options and warrants, virtually all certificates and CFDs are issued This is the derivative tax. Now comes the financial transaction tax and the TOBIN tax that affects stocks. According to my information, the German/EU FTT on the table is only something similar to the French version, i.e. it only applies to stocks listed on the local national stock exchange. So you would still be able to trade US stocks without paying FTT. If you only trade derivatives, I understand it sucks. Will it make a difference if you trade derivatives through a corporation? Of course a US FTT on US stocks would be a game changer for most traders - at least eat a chunk of profit.

I don't suspect it will make much difference which democrat wins(if they do). I suspect this will become a platform issue and IMHO it's not about revenue - it's about slapping Wall Street around. If the Dems run the table in 2020 this will probably be in their top 5 priorities and they will sell it as paying for something as they have proposed in the past.
I can't believe this is actually possible. They can't be that stupid. Nobody with potential to make more than 10 k per year would ever buy stocks in this case.
