  1. Before The Devil Knows Your Dead

Philip Seymour Hoffman plays a great desperado needing cash in the worst way. Perfect movie for today's climate.

Fracture starring Anthony Hopkins. Riveting stuff.

  3. Valkyrie looks like a cartoon or Sin City. Tom Cruise with an eye patch is just pushing credibility, maybe being aware of Cruise's excessive media profile and desperately trying to make you forget that its the same guy who jumped up and down on Oprah's couch, is a Scientologist and smiles at anything way too much. The theme behind this film might have been better served by someone like Daniel Day Lewis or --Ann Rice was right -- Rutger Huer. Maybe its just me but I think Cruise could still dance in a doorway in just his socks and wouldn't look a day older. Maybe becoming an alcoholic would help age that fresh face.

  5. Nice… I think Cruise is a bit underrated though, remember Born on the 4th of July and Collateral. And if you really wanna get old you should chain-smoke.

  6. I'll agree with you there. His portrayl in BOFOJ was terrific, Oscar material even. After that the tabloids poisoned his well -- for me.

  8. I guess, but to that you can argue about artistic autonomy, maybe one should focus on the results of these deranged artists instead of their personal lives, maybe spend more time with the films and less time in front of the TV watching Oprah. Maybe that could keep someone’s well healthier.

Wall-E IMHO is boring. My 8 yr old grandson left the room after about 20 minutes of the endless whistling and gear noises.

Step Brothers is pretty good, Dark Knight way Good. Watched Mummy, Tomb of Dragon Emperor last night, it was 4 on scale of 1-10.

  10. Like a typical ET'er it didn't take long for you to resort to baseless cheap ad hominem attacks. If you knew me you'd know that I never watch Oprah and that my well is as pure as the driven snow. Its my opinion that its up to an actor to jealously guard his or her image so that when they venture into their characters the publicity whoring they've done doesn't filter through. Noone comes to a film without some preconceptions unless they're the sort of carp who will eat anything. Some are able to go on Charlie Rose and advertise their upcoming films with class and dignity. Cruise has failed in that regard.
