The Evolution of an E-mini Trader

  1. Whamo,

GFY. Who the hell are you to judge another person's advice? Furthermore, who are you to determine what advice other's may or may not consider worthy? Anyone who is on this board is a grown man or woman and is able to make these determinations for themselves.

If you're going to attack me simply because I haven't traded with real money, then I think that is just plain silly. Why must one have actually traded an index future to be "qualified" to give technical advice that could apply to other situations besides futures?

Unfortunately, I am finding out slowly but surely that this board is littered with a lot of people who are angry at the world, close-minded and unwilling to share advice without making it personal. I've always been one to provide charts, offer my opinions and give whatever advice *I* think is valid, and if someone doesn't like it, they are more than welcome to ignore me.

"if someone doesn't like it, they are more than welcome to ignore me."

Not a silly idea. It would mean 8.48 fewer posts per day to read......

  3. i like those bands also. i use the settings 13,2, they show a nice pattern on reversals. i add a MACD with 3,10,15 to it. the MACD marks the momentum high/low (and as the saying goes, price high/low follow momentum high/low) and divergences. the 15 ema is useful in seeing the "trend"; as long as it runs over zero, you can prefer trades from the longside an vive versa.

    Aphie,

I'm not part of the angry group but I have joined the skeptical bunch on this board.

See, Huios has been working hard to make a living out of this market (like I am) and you just post a chart showing were an "easy" 2 points could have been made. There are no easy points in this market, lucky ones sometimes yes, but not easy.

You post your advice like your a damn pro, well your not. Advice from someone about the Emini's who hasn't even traded them is worthless in my book. Get into the market and earn the respect of the board by taking your bruises and I'll cut you some slack, otherwise put up or shut up.

I'm done w/ our conversation Aphie, perhaps if you would try to learn on this board versus trying to teach something you don't know you'll be better off when you put your money on the line.

  6. Whamo,

I have nothing to prove to you or anyone else on this board. I am not going to put up with this bs about someone having to trade an actual commodity with real money to be allowed to offer advice. I am net positive every day on paper, so my system works.

I was just trying to offer help and even asked Huios to e-mail me directly so I could show him everything I use in my system. The system *works* -- if it didn't, I wouldn't be up 36% in 7 trading days with not a single losing day. And no, I'm not a vendor trying to sell something -- I am just trying to help him out.

Huios, my offer still stands. I didn't know you were trading for a living. With all due respect, I really believe you have a lot of good entry points but you also get stopped out frequently by market noise. I'm not sure what indicators you are using, but I will show you exactly what indicators I use and try to help you in anyway I can.

To all the others who think that someone must have traded this specific commodity to be in a position to offer advice, my only statement to that would be that you are full of it.

I *have* been trading this, just not with real money -- and don't go on a tyrant about how trading with real money is different, because my system OBVIOUSLY works!

  7. Aphexcoil and others:

This thread has managed, so far, to stay out of the usual pattern of degenerating into a name calling and off topic exercise. I think, out of respect to Huios, we should try and keep this thread clean.

I agree with macal. I have let some of this "off-topic" discussion continue for a few posts, but now let's get back to where the thread should be. Thanks guys.

  9. qwik,

I'm not a big fan of indicators like stochastics, but your chart shows a nice way of using them. Do you require the BB to be broken or just come close to them?

Man, another crash and burn, but this time stuck with the plan.

    8 trades, 1 winner, 7 losers for -8.00 pts

Had 2 trades (T4 and T8) that were very poorly managed. Together they were up over 8 pts, and I let them turn into losers to the tune of -6 pts. Some trades that I took quick exits on, would have been good winners. One trade I took the profit too quick, and let money on the table.

Another frustrating day, but I learned something that was worth 4 bills. Let's see if I can put it in practice tomorrow.

    Net for the day: -438.40

    Net for the week: -826.80

Puffy, do yourself a favor, and don't look.:(
