I've searched back through the posts and can't find where someone had previously mentioned a rumor of IB's solvency? I don't recall a source being mentioned but would like to know who said what (any article references?) since I'm considering changing over to IB. Thought it was one of the top "solid" firms. Can't be too careful these days. I see a lot of traders posting on ET use IB. What's the best way to know if trouble's really brewing? CFTC? NFA? SEC? other non-industry sources?
Everybody, thanks for your cheers. We got moved, and I am sitting in my new office, I actually have room to breathe. Peter, I was actually thinking the same thing you posted. What If I didn't start out with a 10 pt. win???? Went over Fri. charts and tried to see what I would have done, but that almost seemed like a useless endevor. I marked the chart, but the emotion was not there as it is when watching it form in real time, as I figured. Papertradeing my one setup today, the trend retracement, and using the ADX as a filter for trending market. The only problem I've had with the ADX was then the trend quickly changes, it lags like most idicators. No kidding!!!!
Comments on charts. All paper trades. 10 trades, 2 winners, 5 losers, 3 b/e (+/- .50 pts.) for total loss of 3.50 pts, not including $48.00 in commissions. Of the 5 losers, 4 were shorts in an up market. As explained in the comments, I thought there was a CIT, when it was only a 38% retracement. Saw some errors in my thinking today. Need to fix: 1. Definition of CIT, to be able to confirm it when I see it. 2. Taking every trade setup. 3. Sticking to exit plan. Confirmed good: 1. Entries during the retracement. Clarification needed: 1. Different kinds of exits and when to use them. I got homework tonight!!!
As I am really new to emini trading: 1. How much cost one NQ contract when the current quote is 955? 2. When NQ goes from 955 to 970 and I have one contract - how much do I earn? Please help. Lojze
lojze, I saw you posting some help questions at enthios Yahoo eGroup (they must of not replied). Here goes...its simple. The NQ = 1 point = $20...if it moves just .50 = $10 Thus, for the NQ to go from 955 to 970...if your Long...you just made 15 NQ points or 15 x $20 = $300 per contract. Unlike the ES...there are no .25 point moves in the NQ. You can find answers to all your NQ questions at http://www.cme.com P.S. I hope my math is good NihabaAshi
Thank you, Nihaba, I am just going through their web seminar on daytrading eminis. It seems good. Lojze
Is it really? How is the situation with volatility and liquidity in pre- and aftermarket hours? Lojze
If one contract is 20 x current price it is slightly less than 20,000$ and that is waaay too much (for me). Or I am wrong? Lojze
