I'm thinking how this chatroom can be fun and/or useful... maybe you could post a Daily chatroom Topic to talk about -- that way we aren't just in there staring at walls wondering what to talk about. (this same idea also can work in the forums)
This is close to what I would suggest, but I would add - bond futures - forex and fx futures Six rooms...if that is too many, you could merge later.
The usefulness of different rooms instead of one big room is so that traders can be with those trading similar like trading instruments without needing to read through messages involving other trading instruments they have no interest. For example, if there's only 3 traders in the forex room and you trade forex...you don't want to be in one big room with that has all conversations and you're trying to find forex discussions among talks about stocks, futures, binary options or whatever. Also, having different rooms will make it much easier to moderate and to identify problematic members. It will be interesting to see how many ET members that actively post real time comments on twitter and/or stocktwits will move back to ET after it reopens its chat room because I know a many old time members that stop posting here at ET when twitter and stocktwits became popular...they only post on those social media. They only post on twitter and stocktwits most likely due to its mobility and easy integration into many other things. Therefore, will ET chat room be mobile too ? Simply can someone log into the chat room on their mobile device and then navigate easily in ET chat on their mobile device. I'm not sure if its something Baron has or has not taken into consideration. P.S. More traders today are mobile trading because there are more trade execution platforms, brokers, charting that are now mobile. Crazy how easily technology changes things.
I would be curious to see Anek return and post live trades as I missed the whole holy grail thing the first time around. Very few posters on have posted trades in real time...schizo, No Doji, and a few others after a delay. Maybe a chat room would encourage more of that, which would be good fun for all.
There never been more than 2-3 active rooms. Maybe 1-2 private, but people could make private rooms on other websites too, the whole point is sharing... Request: Could we not show people on the ignore list? That would cut down on noise....
