  1. No. They can't even entertain the idea of not raiding social security. To do so would throw this country into a depression overnight. We would be instantly bankrupt.
I'm just pointing out that it was the criminals in congress that got us here, so thinking that these very same criminals will now solve this problem is unlikely. They'll keep finding a way to rob the working class until there is nothing left to take. This is why we're on a death sprial regardless of what they do. We can keep kicking the can down the road for another decade or two, but it doesn't end well. Eventually the entire nation will be taxed into poverty.

  2. I never said, nor can you prove that I am anti-everything GOP. That is simply not true.

    You are drifting Luke.

Do you have something to put on the table?

    that is in place already.

If I could redo SSI I would do the following.

Your SSI income derives from 2 sources: a forced savings IRA trust or your taxing your own kids at a certain %. 2 ways to get it large, work and save, or give the world productive kids.

Didn't raise good kids or didn't work? too bad, you are a charity case and at the mercy of what others voluntarily give you

  4. Yes he paid into the system. Does he deserve it? Yes. but oh well, I say net worth - $1m - no ss check.
    -----------------

What if we propose a parallel ss system. Phase out the current one and offer something from the private sector. An annuity, something the pols can't get their greedy paws on. Of course, this depends if we are trying to accomdate the less fortunate or using ss as a revenue source.

No? You're post history suggests otherwise.

Oh I've got plenty, all mentioned repeatedly before by me and others for literally years and all laughed at by you and your fellow Keynesian liberals.

You might as well start a thread on what we'd like to do with Kate Upton IF and WHEN we ever get her in bed.

You and your ilk were obsessed with winning the election, well you won. Only problem is you sacrificed any shred of hope that was left for our future by reelecting Obama. One of the most unqualified divisive Presidents in my lifetime.
AND you're bragging about adding democrats in the senate. Many of the same career politicians that created our mess.

Has everyone forgotten this chart? And Harry Reid says we are not going to touch Social Security or Medicare. Our path is assured. Thank you democraps. Oh, BTW, we are going over the cliff and we're all going to die anyway.

We've known for quite some time about the demographic time bomb, democrats refuse to address it.

2 things are about to happen each with 50% chance

    1. Sequestration
    2. A massive can-kicking charade. It will temporarily soothe everyone.

I can predict with certainty what will not happen: a long term solution

Total agreement. Option 1 has a 25% chance of happening, maybe slightly lower. The can-kicking exercise will be what occurs, as our politicians and President have no balls to do what needs to be done.

The "Tax Revenue Average" assumption is hilarious. No way we go until 2045. Does anyone with an IQ over 100 actually think we're going to collect more taxes in the next decade than we have in the last 5 years?
