Given a choice between nigh-infinite universes and your even more ridiculous "god did it" theory, that's an easy call.

Conclude what you wish, now that you get the science, you wont get an argument out of me.

Oh come on! What constraint of language!
How about using the words "divine creator" or "God" or if you want to be obscure, "something".

Point is you are making the contradiction. Speaking generally, as every being or thing whatever it may be, does appear to be in some form of decay, a being of whatever type eternal or temporal, not in a state of decay, would be a contradiction.

Where do you think the move towards greater entropy would be likely to finish up anyway? Possibly in a state of total entropy perhaps!?

You made a considered and rational post about the Constitution and religion earlier despite your own professed belief.
I took it you might know something of what you were talking about seeing you mentioned the arrow of time, or at least be as rational as you previously were.

    My mistake.

  5. Why do you say that Lucrum? We know our universe is here, that is fact. To suppose there could be one or many more universe would be a logical question.
To suppose there is a god who "made" the universe is based on nothing but conjecture spurred on by religion dogma. What logic, based on fact would anyone suppose there is a god, there is none. No more to than suppose our universe is made from an advanced alien civilization or to suppose the universe is the work of witches, both have as much factual support as the religious god myth.
Why doesn't Jem argue the tuners are aliens, it makes as much sense as his god dribble.

I see most atheists as being utterly desperate to convince themselves and all who will listen that there is no God. This indicates to me emotion, faith/belief.
This alone would give me pause and cause me to want to be open minded.

Until science knows everything with absolute certainty, no theories, I'll continue to leave the God door open. Between me and you I hope the atheists are right, otherwise I figure I have eternity in Hell to look forward to.

To be honest I suspect that's the reason for many atheists desperation to believe there is no God. They can't stomach the thought of roasting in Hell.

  7. Lucrum why do you think you'll roast in hell if there is a god. Why would it have to be there is a god = it has to be a Jesus or Jew or Islam god. Why couldn't it be a god who doesn't givea shit what we think.
What about Bigfoot, aliens living in human bodies, magic, elves, lepRechauns, flying carpets and of course genies in a bottle, if your keeping an open mind about the god myth(s) you should also keep an open mind about these.

This is why many of the Founding Fathers were Deists, not theists. But I wouldn't expect a chucklehead like Lowcunt to get that.

  10. I don't know many atheist to know about their personal thoughts of atheist as a whole but I'd make a guess they're atheist the same reason you an I are atheist. There is no credible proof of a god. I doubt fear has anything to do with it.
