Steve I don't believe in outside influences when it comes to trading, personally I have found that even spending a little time here in ET is extremely counter productive and can give me bias that I would not have had if I didn't read some of the posts. I do think these places are useful for platforms, charting info and that kind of stuff but I ignore any other posts involved with trading or directional calls etc.. and the stupid childish behavior and name calling is totally ridiculous. I posted in the p/l journal for awhile but even that was a distraction. I hope your still doing well
As long as SPAM runs rampant on the Yahoo boards, ET has no fear of losing it's spot. Baron ought to spam the yahoo investment boards with a message like "For a trading community where there's far more chat than spam, go to http://www.elitetrader.com" ! Thar way, Yahoo's big name attracts interest and ET gets more chatters.
plus the fact that Yahoo is largely unmoderated and people can create almost as many alias as they want. But same thing as Steve said, Yahoo is usually the first stop when learning how to trade until you realize quickly how useless the posts are on Yahoo Messageboards... although I still use it once in a while.
That was done many years ago in the late 90's. It's how I heard about ET... Spam works. In fact, it got so bad (ET spam) that the EliteTrader.com link couldn't even be posted at the Yahoo! boards (post couldn't be sent with the link in it). I'm not sure if its the same (ban on ET link) because I haven't been over at Yahoo! boards in many many years. Now that ET is well established in its niche... No need to spam anymore and you can go after those that come here and spam. Mark
Seeing you try to make fun of the intelligence of this group is almost hilarious, especially considering your three or four spelling mistakes in your one little post above. You've been calling for the collapse of ET for YEARS under a variety of aliases but yet this community does nothing but prove you wrong again and again as time goes on. We just get bigger and better every year while you continue to embarrass yourself calling the opposite. So please do us all a favor and cut your losses, because I can tell you again that being short ET is definitely a losing position.
Baron You yourself must admit that this site is not even close to the quality it was several years ago and the childish name calling and fights that go on in here these days make it this site laughable and difficult to take seriously to any professional trader.
