The end of dilettante youth?

  1. Back in the stoneage. You had to earn your way. Wanted to buy something, newspaper route do something productive. Save your nickels and learn money management, pay for it.

    It seems parents today are so disinterested in thier kids that they seem to think they can buy thier love by pretty much going into debt and letting them get what they want when they want it.

    So you see all these emo kids, teen girls who try to dress and act like some thuglife skank, and speak like an idiot. Show them a map and they could not identify one state, ask them to multiply two numbers and they will look at you like deer caught in the headlights.

    So do you think the end of Homes as ATM, easy credit for all will force parents to actually interact with their kids, discipline them and act as adults with them, and maybe spend time with them doing things like dinner at the table etc..?
