The End of America

  1. There will be no civil war. We can't afford it on any level.

There are no rational conservatives that stupid. The irrational ones are a tiny minority, that's why they stand out so.

Believe it or not our situation is much more precarious than when Lincoln was in the white house. We weren't imperialists yet, and did not have an enemies list three miles long.

But if skimishes did occur, and the military were not central in the division, then it would be a one day war. Back then there was no thermal imaging, no Apache gunships, no predator drones, no CS gas, no tanks, no APCs, and no satellite technology.

Federal military might is such that there will never be an armed uprising in this nation of any consequence, and anyone who has had any contact with the military will attest to that.

  2. How can one who does not belong to a party be partisan? Until these fruits can put someone up thats worth a damn, I am not voting either. Its that simple.

With that being said, I believe a lot of the coverage by the media of Bush was downright mean and hateful. They gave him credit for nothing. On the otherhand, Obama can do no wrong. Even when he reverses himself and adopts the same position that Bush had. Obama is learning fast that there are alot of folks out there that plan on inflicting great pain on the US if they have a chance, and fighting them does not have any simple clear-cut options. This whole idea that these threats are made up or false, or are just used as fear-mongering must be blind. Bush certainly screwed up a lot of stuff in the country but the way he has executed the war on terror has been pretty good. If this lady is concerned with civil liberties, fine, I have no problem with that. If you run around comparing Bush to Hitler then it sounds like it was simply a presentation she put together to appeal to her statist, Bush-hating friends.

  5. I liked ur last post better. No, we cannot say what will happen, but I don't think there are enough combat troops who will not stand for the preservation of the union.

If I am wrong, well, I enjoyed this lil chat, as there won't be anymore like it anytime soon.

  7. If Bush had actually done nothing, your country would have been better off for it.

  8. Well, I deleted it because I would hate to see things get that bad. The problem is there are some out there way more extreme than I am, that really do not care what happens. You know what i mean.

I would hate to see the Feds push things too far and ignite it.

Anyway, I am going to move on and leave it to you fellas.

  9. Thats what Clinton did through the '90s and that really worked out well. So Thudermutt's idea is to let people hijack planes and fly them into buildings, killing thousands, and then do nothing about it. Great idea.

  10. You're right. That was the one instance where Bush did nothing (despite dire warnings from Richard Clarke of impending attacks possibly involving aircraft) but perhaps should have done something.
