Did you feel that way when you had the flu the last several decades of your life?
Or just now because the news tells you so?

During the 2018–2019 season, 136 deaths in children with laboratory–confirmed influenza virus infection were reported in the United States8. However, influenza-associated pediatric deaths are likely under-reported as not all children whose death was related to an influenza virus infection may have been tested for influenza.

And how does this differ from the flu? The Flu is not a one and done virus.
Great news from Canada this year.
normally there are 3500 deaths per year from flu.
    This year? 112!
All we have to do is just lockdown!
    Lockdowns work!
    You know what else works?
Tying a plastic bag around your head.
I heard that makes you IMMUNE!!

And about 25% of all flu deaths are people 65 and younger.
    Sounding familiar yet?

  6. Ouch. Asking if I am basically a media bitch?

Based on my understanding of Covid-19, it is significantly more serious than the flu. Therefore, protective action is an citizen’s obligation to other citizens and our nation.

Given the historical choices presented to “defend” our country, wearing PPE is easier to swallow than, say, the Vietnam era draft. Is it too soon to compare Covid-19 deaths to Vietnam? Are we going to lose the war against Covid, too? Or are we not even going to try to fight it? Because of the inconvenience of some wearing PPE? The inconvenience of those who historically have been the most responsible and productive?

If I were a military planner with hostile intent towards the United States, I would know exactly how to take the US down. $200k or so for equipment, some fervent volunteers, a moblle lab, a endemic virus of two, and a deivery system would be all that it would take.

Think of wearing PPE as practice for disaster presparation and national security prepardness if you must. But please wear PPE during this crisis.

  7. A 1% or so death rate and a 15% or so serious complication rate not worth taking protective action over? Must be nice to know your immune system will be strong 24/7, forever.

Why is this thread still running when Trump has sided with masks as essential?

His foolish minions under the bus and all?

"We're asking everybody that when you are not able to socially distance, wear a mask, get a mask. Whether you like the mask or not, they have an impact, they'll have an effect and we need everything we can get," he said
