Thanks for the feedback guys. I'll be reading my first edition of the mag during the weekend. My library stocks it, so no worries if it gets loaded with too much political garbage.
Economist is a great mag, providing in-depth insights on current events, especially macro events. So it might be helpful to long-term investors alike but not much help to short-term traders.
That article was published April 2021. Correct at the time of publication but failed to foresee future events. That was a year before the war. Or as we say in the mud flats of the Mississippi Delta "Before the "Wa-ah".
The Economist is a propagandized, self-congratulatory publication for and by the globalist, Keynesian, Davos crowd. The days of those methods are ending. They will say whatever they need to in attempt to retain their self-proclaimed intelligence and superiority. The Economist publication is garbage-out! Garbage-in for those that give it credence.
Markets topped before the war and gas/energy prices had been moving up at a near 45-degree angle for 16 months...inflation and the downturn were inevitable. The bottom line is the Economist authors have no predictive value and if they did, they'd be trading or running funds instead of lap dogs of the elite. There used to be some nice small towns in the Delta. Sadly, most are now like the ones around Natchez as described here. AH Cruising through a Natchez Dead Zone - The Quash (captivate.fm)
So, today I picked up the June-July edition with the title "Energy Crisis". Seems either a lot of wealthy people (or wanan-bies) must read this mag. I turn the first page and there is a double-page ROLEX advert. A few more pages and there is a full-page TAG HEUER Porsche advert for the Chronograph. lol
