The economics expert with no degree:Nathan Tankus, 28, hasn’t finished his bachelor’s degree at New York City’s John Jay College of Criminal Justice. He has, however, mastered enough knowledge of economics and finance to become a widely followed commentator on the Federal Reserve. His newsletter has followers at the Fed, the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, and the Department of the Treasury. Take a look at Tankus’s unorthodox diploma-free rise in the elite world of economics.(Bloomberg)

“We’ve kind of stretched the space for gatekeepers in economics.”

  2. Easy to dismiss the value of an economics "degree"... even a PhD.

The Fed has > 100 PhDs on salary... and they've never seen a recession "coming".

  3. Question:
    "What is a financial analyst?"
    Answer:
    "a bad trader".

Dealmaker, you have been slacking lately. Your posts have less and less info, like most of the article was cut off or something. Are you on vacation? Because we want the old DM back!!

For example in this post we still don't know why he is such an expert, did he predict something correctly?

That's because they don't trade...they invest and try to tell you where to invest. :D

AOC is rumored to have a degree in economics. She claims to be an expert in Milton Keynes.

Wrong, of course, as always. Yes, the fed has many Ph.D. economists, and they always see the recession coming.

Yes. She's smart and well educated.

"Milton Keynes" ?. Did you mean John Milton, the English intellectual and poet, and Maynard Keynes, the English Economist who invented Macroeconomics ? Or, what did you mean?

Wrong. I know the difference between Keynes, the economist, and the neighborhood.
