TEL AVIV (MarketWatch) -- Burj Dubai, the world's tallest building, is scheduled to open Jan. 4 under the cloud of the emirate's financial woes and lagging investor confidence, media reports say. After more than five years of construction, the 160-story tower will stand more than 800 meters, more than half a mile , high. The next-tallest building, the Taipei 101 building in Taiwan, is only 60% the height of Burj Dubai at more than 500 meters. The Burj Dubai project includes offices, residences, shops, and a hotel designed by Armani. http://www.marketwatch.com/story/dubai-tower-worlds-tallest-set-to-open-jan-4-2009-12-06
