My point about focusing on the math (rate) rather than crime stands. After all, the vast majority of crime is committed by men, what's that focus gonna get us? Anyway, the fact checkers have spoken, illegals have a lower crime rate than legals. Probably because most of them are trying to fly below the radar.

Actually, my point wasn't political or a support of Trump's argument, at least not by intent. If the crime of illegal entry wasn't perpetrated, there would be no statistics to discuss or compare regarding crimes perpetrated by those criminals who entered illegally.

Well the only statistic you have then is illegals caught because they committed a crime, other than crossing the border! We do know how many illegals that is! 100%. Fine statistic there, Donald! This is the kind of statistical fodder that makes populist candidates drool as though headed for a Super Sized Big Mac..

I wonder if Trump made some deal to attract all the media circus's ire and ridicule in order to provide a "heat shield" to a lot of the other candidates.

  5. As far as I can tell, his "anti-pc" opinions are making the rest of the GOP look extremely weak...it's solidifying their reputation as a bunch of stand for nothing, "don't offend anyone" lightweights. The left already stands in that corner, so the right is certainly not doing itself any favors by jumping on the same bandwagon.

Perhaps. But what will Trump accomplish in the end? What's the endgame? He's not going to be elected. There aren't enough folks out there to eat the red meat he's throwing out. Sure, he'll rally some hard-core anti-establishment groups but he's not going to win the nomination, much less the election. He has to know this.

Rationally you and I think he must know it. But he's a very prideful man. Have you ever read any of his books?

I think you're missing my point. You stated crimes other than crossing the border. Crossing the border is a crime. If that crime was actively and effectively enforced against, we might not be comparing the amount of crimes done by natural citizens to the amount by illegals. By not enforcing one law, we are opening the door for other laws to be violated. That's all I'm saying. Pretty simple, really.

  10. ...or he's as fed up with the RINO's as everyone else. His ability to speak candidly about all of the "hot button" issues and force the hand of his counterparts is shrewd, but potentially the undoing of any GOP candidate.
